We have a 900 square foot condo with newly installed carpet over 700 square feet and 12" square cork glue down tiles over the remaining 200 square feet.
CARPET
The carpet has many areas that are uneven under foot due to the subfloor being left full of debris by the previous installers, AND likely the subfloor being poorly installed by the building contractor.
1. Lift the carpet, remove debris and assess the need to get the concrete floor professionally leveled.
2. Re-install the carpet (even if professional leveling is required).
3. Ensure the carpet is tightly installed, that nail strips don't poke into our feet and properly install transitions.
CORK TILES
The kitchen areas has had 12" square glue down cork poorly installed by the previous installers.
1. The cork has to be completely removed, and
2. The subfloor properly prepped.
3. New flooring installed. We'll purchase new flooring from a local vendor and are open to suggestions for reputable dealers.
I wish to replace the carpeting in my condo (concrete and steel construction) with engineered hardwood. There is a parquet floor underneith the carpet. I need to have the carpet removed and hauled away then have the existing floor leveled/prepped (if it needs to be). I will supply the hardwood floor and materials as needed unless you can get me better prices. I also wish to reuse the existing baseboards if possible.
Dimensions of areas to be done are:
Living room : 17' X 12'
Den: 13' X 9'
Dining room: 8' X 8'
Hall: 5' X 4'
Hall: 7' X 4'
I have a small rental suite that I'd like some laminate and Allure vinyl tile installed. There is about 370 sq. ft of laminate and 110 sq. feet of vinyl tile. I will supply all materials. Can you give me a per sq. ft. or per hour price on removal of old flooring (carpet & lino, lino may stay under new) and installation?
I have old carpet that I need to get removed and replaced with either linoleum or laminate. I have seen some nice linoleum or something like it that has a woodgrain and I am interested in this because it might be more durable than laminate.
The square foot area is 420.
I might be interested in having some additional flooring replacement done depending on the cost.

Looking to install hardwood floors in my tv room, already have oak hardwood in my house they are light color.Just wondering if a darker floor would look with the oak lighter floor. Its 248 sq ft or would be better off redoing my existing oak floor by refinishing it as it has worn out a bit ,then put the same oak floor in my tv room ,suggestions would be great on pricing.

Hi,
We would like to have some somenoe come by to have a good look at the hardwood floor that we would like to have refinished and then provide us with a quote. We would also like hardwood installed (we already have the hardwood) in three areas:

Stairs and landing in house. Approx 12 stairs plus 1.5 sqm landing. Straight stairwell, not curved.
Potential for remainder of carpeted bedrooms as well:

All to be redone with laminate plank flooring (perhaps cork in Mstr bdrm).
I have two rooms and a set of stairs in a split entry 70's house in Langford.
One room is 12ft x 9'-3" with a 6ft x 2'-3" closet.
One room is 14'-10" x 13'-2" with two closets within those dimensions.
The stairs have two 6'-9" x 4'-3" landings and 12 treads.
The rest of the house has Kaindl 8mm yellow cedar laminate flooring and we would like to approximately match it.
The rooms will be stripped down to bare floors.
I need this done this week (November 18-24) while my wife is away.
I will need some advice on the best choice for the stairs.
Looking to install laminate flooring on the upstairs of our home. The details of the project are as follows:
- Total installation square foot: 722.00
- 17 stairs
- 3 Bedrooms, hallway, and 2 transitions to bathrooms
- Bathrooms won't have laminate installed
We will remove the carpet and baseboards in advance of installation.
Our Master is 10' x 19', including the walk-in closet. We already have 12mm laminate flooring purchased because we had the living room and office floors in our condo installed over a month ago. The job went super well, but the installers are too busy to get to the master before Christmas.
We have a 1940's home that has original floors in the living area and entryway but newer hardwood floors in the remodelled part which is the kitchen and dining room. All told it's roughly 510-525 sqft of flooring.
The original parts of the home has squeaking (as to be expected since the 40's) and we are not wanting to start a huge overhaul but would like to have the floors remedied prior to new floor instal.
Open to suggestions on options with just screwing down the current floors from above levelling the areas and laying down laminate flooring.
Floor-plan of area attached.

Total sqft (estimate): 120 Replacing old carpet with laminate flooring in 2 bedrooms, living room and hallway. Total sqft (estimate): 830. Note that sqft of condo is 960, measurements for individual areas are guesstimates.
Condo is currently empty.
I require an estimate of labour for the following.
I can provide assistance on removal and installation (I'm a retired furniture maker - because of bad back can't do the job myself):
1. Removal and disposal of 613 square feet of carpeting (concrete subfloor).
2. Installation of 613 square feet of underlay.
3. Installation of 613 square feet of click lock laminate flooring.
4. Installation of approximately 30 linear feet of transition (to carpet).
I will:
Remove baseboards.
Order underlay and flooring 4-5 days before installation.
Looking to have flooring installed around Oct 1-2.
Carpeting could be removed at any time over the coming week.
Thanks, Carl
The floors in a mobile home were flooded during the cold weather and there is dampness under the floor panels and mold on some of the baseboards.
Quote would need to include determination as to if the floors and underlay can be replaced as well as being replaced.. Adequate drying time may be needed.
Thanks
Right now the flooring in the condo is stick on vinyl, we want laminate everywhere except the bathroom, where we would like tile.
The laminate we have seen that we like are greyish in colour (nightridge oak or villa oak from Lowe's for example). We want a darker time with texture in the bathroom.
We are unsure what the underlay is like. We do not have possession for a couple of weeks.
