We hired Kirk to upgrade our new house to current standards. Our house was built in 1945 and we required new lines into the home, a new panel, and some upgrades throughout the home. He did excellent work and explained everything that was required. We have also called him back for some extra work that was required and added some things on after he got here and he had no problem doing what was required and was quick to answer any questions we had. We will definitely call him back for any more work required as we continue to upgrade our home a finish our basement.
Kirk is the worst person with the worst attitude, he has no skills in customer service, bad attitude and on top of all he speaks to you like you owe him the world. He wants your money first before he starts any work..like he doesn't trust someone to begin with (ok you are in my house doing the work so how can I run away?) after you pay him then his nasty attitude and tone of speaking starts to show its ugly color. He didn't know exactly what he's doing and He was intimidating, when I interrupted him to ask a question he would tell me not to speak with him as he's working...and he didn't like me watching what hes doing so I had to go to another room in my own HOME so this guy can work? (ok...) and I felt like calling the cops on him because he was raising his voice and I felt very uncomfortable with him around and i just wanted him to leave my house. PLEASE save your money and don't hire this guy to do any type of work! hire a professional.
Kirk visited my residence to investigate an issue I had with a couple of receptacles not working properly.
Upon arrival he took a quick look at the electrical panel in the basement and then issued me with a quote for $400. He asked for payment up front. I said I'd only pay 50% up front because I didn't want to pay in full for a job until it was completed properly.
He started to work on the electrical panel in the basement. I was casually observing to understand what was going but on but he told me he didn't want me watching.
Within 20 minutes he was done. The receptacles were working. I paid him and he left.
Within a couple of days I realized that despite the receptacles working there are now other things that stopped working since the "repair" work, ie lights and switches. He didn't return my calls or messages. I also found the exact replacement part (GFCI) that he charged me $200 for, but at home depot was $40.
The minute he looked at the fault he knew it was a simple fix, but lied and told me it would take a couple of hours to make it seem like it was something more involved than it really was.
I can respect paying a professional for their time, and would have been happy to pay for the call-out fee and for any real work he performed, but this guy straight up fleeced me.
