I called AIM at the end of the week. Neil was busy with the other pre booked jobs, but he went out of his way and called and arranged for another plumber to sort-out my problems with expansion tank. Good man!
Thank you very much Greg for your testimonial. It makes us proud to be able to deliver professional, courteous service to our local Tri-Cities clients. We thank you again for the time you have taken to post your review of Aim Plumbing.
Called to attach plumbing because when I connected it with the fernicos the trap was too far out and caused the drawer to not close. Called in AIM and explained problem. $200 later plumber states he is done. Connections are leaking and the door has three inch gap stopping it from closing. Complete waste of money. Wife spoke to manager - who was rude and blamed problem on IKEA product. NO effort to solve problem.
The problem at hand here was that the homeowner had come into a free IKEA vanity cabinet/sink/faucet combo and wanted to use it to upgrade the bathroom prior to New Year's weekend. Friday Dec. 30 at 12 PM they called us after I assume a failed attempt to install themselves. The initial conversation with the lady of the house was that it was of utmost importance to have the water and drainage connected so the sink could be put into use. It was not divulged to us at that time that there was a drawer issue involved and previous attempts from homeowners had resulted in a drawer not closing due to confined spacing of the existing plumbing and cabinetry.
Homeowners sent a photo showing plumbing supply lines short and in need of extensions to connect to existing isolation valves and typical IKEA substandard plastic plumbing pipe and fittings. I immediately raised my concerns about the IKEA product, the issues with meshing CSA grade North American plumbing fittings with IKEA and stated that generally if it is known to us and most pros that if IKEA product is to be used it is recommended that a rough in dry fit of existing plumbing and IKEA product be done prior to cabinetry installs and finish trim out. Our discussion ended with agreed understanding that we would do all we could with what we had to work with existing, the timing of the call (being mid day/ last minute prior to us hoping to shut down a bit early for New Years).
Apparently the concern of the drawer closing was brought to the attention of our tech once on site, a quick analysis of the scope and our tech informed homeowners that he would give it a try and do what he could to accommodate their concerns. Our tech went about attempting to cram the plumbing drainage into the confined space behind the drawer cavity of the already installed by home owner PL Premium Construction glued cabinetry and sink. The inability to even think about moving the cabinetry and sink to work in an efficient manner due to the glued in place cabinetry led to an frustrating, undesirable result for the homeowners, add to that a leaking isolation valve discovered once our tech did finally get water back on to the faucet and the extended time involved to repair this item resulted in even more frustration and ire. We did all we could with what we had to work with, our initial verbalized concerns with scenario at hand and inevitable end result was verified and most likely left the homeowners with an embarrassing result they already knew was imminent that must now be paid for. Homeowners as stated to me were quoted $600-$900 to complete what we did for $250. All that remains to remedy the situation is to have the drawer notched out slightly to allow the drawer backing to pass by the sink drainage. This I offered to provide once we returned to normal hours Tuesday Jan.3, the homeowners however declined my offer, yet very quickly concluded in their testimonial I provided no answer to resolve the issue. How can one resolve an issue if the offer is declined in haste. I attempted a phone call to the homeowners, during a text message session day of service call however did not get a response, the texting continued and i feel my intentions were lost in translation as text messaging often does result in.
Wow. What great customer service. They came a couple of weeks ago called out to an emergency, kitchen sink not draining, told me it was my garburator. I chose to Remove it , but on their recommendation decided to wait until I was off for a few days. The owner Neil called me the next day to follow up on the service I had received. When it came to doing the job, I also decided to replace my bathroom taps and toilet. I bought a new bathroom sink in case it needed to be replaced.
Patrick who came to do the jobs was polite, courteous and did an excellent job, telling me I didn't need a new sink. He even cleaned up after himself, excellent service and reasonable price, discussed costs and things I didn't need to do unless I wanted.
Would recommend them.
