Column and Joist

I've work with Evan and the team at Column and Joist numerous times over the last 5 years. They have handled everything from simple wall removals/new beams, to framing a new Triplex from the ground up. Working with them has always been very professional and as stress-free as construction ever gets.

My husband and I are very happy with the kitchen renovation that was completed by Concept Renovations. From the sales to the project management the project was explained and completed with excellent attention to details.

Rod and Evan were able to both quickly understand and flawlessly execute the work that I wanted done.

There were only a few minor hiccups and they were dealt with professionally and expediently.

I would especially like to highlight Rod's outstanding communication during the project. He is constantly in touch with updates and is always accessible for questions.

The service provided was exceptional. All the work was completed in a thorough detailed and excellent manner. I have renovated previous properties with other contractors in the past, and none has delivered the skills and quality of workmanship like this company did. This is our third project with Rod Menezes. We consider ourselves fortunate to work with him. He delivers budget-conscious ideas, enthusiasm, experience, and a commitment to the highest client communications and service.

For this project, Rod turned our half-finished basement into storage and work areas. He also turned our mechanical room into a clean bright laundry room. The list of everything he did is almost too long to mention, but we now have a storage room separated by sliding mirrored doors (making the room look larger) and a work area with new lighting and flooring, and more electrical sockets. Rod also refurbished a partly-used bathroom (moving a door in the process) and added a sump-pump. To our Mechanical Room he added cabinetry and outlets and installed a new washer/dryer/sink. He also replaced a window; fixed an interior door, gave us a new exterior door (with weatherstripping), and added insulation and new lights. Rod also came up with a way to provide more heat in the winter.

Everything Rod did ended up being better than planned and he was able to improve on all our suggestions. When we had a surprise kitchen flood, he stepped in and had his guys fix everything while they were working on the basement project (couldn't have been happier).

And to top it all off, Rod did almost all the work while we were adhering to Covid-19 guidelines. Rod put the people who worked for him first, and while the job took longer as a result, people continued working and did it safely. He provided a regularly updated schedule showing who was in the house and what they were doing, and took photographs along the way to show progress.

We mentioned that this is the third time we've worked with Rod and his team. Rod also upgraded our second-floor bathroom and later turned our attic into a bedroom with an adjoining bathroom. Our home is better for having Rod working in it, and we can't sing his praises enough.

We are absolutely thrilled with our home reno! If you're looking to do a renovation, look no further - this is the contractor you should call! Rod is exceptionally organized, hardworking, and had many great solutions for us. He is passionate about his work and consistently went the extra mile for us. Our little bungalow had many challenges (asbestos, structural. electrical, plumbing), but thanks to Rod and his Concept Renos team we were able to move into our new home knowing that everything had been done the right way and within our budget! 10 out of 10 experience!
