Absolutely horrible experience. I paid 18,000 dollars to have one tub with tile, one basement shower, and less than 1,000 square feet of vinyl planking installed. The shower head installed upstairs was not affixed and is moving all over within the wall. When I asked why it was not affixed in the wall (as is standard practice) was told "I didn't want to break a pipe (?)" The showerhead upstairs is leaking and plumbing tape was left visibly on. Downstairs: How do you justify $5,000 for tiling and incorrect installation of a shower glass? Upon "completion" and full payment I went to use the shower. The seams were not siliconed at the bottom of the unit and the water flooded my bathroom floor - an inch of water POURING out at the seams. I texted and the owner said he'd come by to fix. He came by, re-siliconed and two days later, the bathroom flooded again. They blamed the glass door manufacturer, although an independent contractor came in and fixed their flood mess by simply installing the door with silicon in the proper place. I had to put in an extra $1,000 just for supplies and extra for labour to have the downstairs bathroom fixed after this horrible work and I am now living in constant fear as they did not hire a plumber as part of their initial $6,500 bathtub/tile replacement upstairs until an issue was noticed nor for the $5,000 shower replacement downstairs. I have already had flooding downstairs and leaks due to their work. With respect to flooring, I asked if they could install baseboards to about 8 - 12 (eight to twelve) linear feet which they agreed to as part of the flooring price. For reference: I paid $6,500 for approximately 950 sq feet of vinyl planking (which was bought from a supplier of their choice) so I paid a very fair rate of $6.74 per square foot installed. The baseboards were not aligned and completely unfinished - ie: not mitred in corners and when cut, not painted - just left. When I brought this up, I was told "You said you were going to paint the house, you can dap and paint your baseboards." I am now out the money I spent, the money I had to spend on someone else fixing the work done, and am under severe mental anguish from the attacks by the owner on social media (which he has called my “sob story”), as well as the stress of not knowing if and when my house will flood again as no plumber was consulted for the bathrooms, until a problem was noticed upstairs. I think contractors need to be heavily regulated in this province. The owner acknowledged he had zero idea where the leaks were coming from in both bathrooms, and told me to fix the baseboards myself. My bill was fully paid, and then I was treated like garbage. If asked by anyone to verify this review, I have time stamped photos, videos, copies of bank statements of full payment, copies of time stamped messages. I wasn’t asking much: a fair job done at a fair price without water leaking everywhere every time a shower is used. I don't want another person to be taken advantage of or have to live in fear that their house will flood after spending $18,000 and then being left with a giant mess to clean up.
