I received and invoice from a contractor advertising on kijiji and Craigslist under Alton Village Landscaping Group for the roof repair, two weeks ago, contractor offered service and requested a $750.00 deposit.
Deposit was sent by interact email transfer to the contractor. Contractor accepted deposit.
Since that time it is impossible to get in touch with the contractor by phone. Only text and email he promises a refund of my money, but all it is are empty promises.
WARNING : Contractor Crooks, Alton Village Landscaping!!
For those considering hardwood floor refinishing, deck staining, or landscaping, beware of Alton Village Landscaping. We hired them to do some work at our house and it was a disaster. Not only did they not complete the job, they left our house in need of repairs and our floors need to be completely refinished.
On top off all of this, the owner Chris has threatened us, lied to us, and now completely disappeared. We have never had a worse business experience.
This is unfortunately becoming more and more common in the contracting world, but if I can save someone the headache of going through what we have then it's worth my time to post this.
