I bought a new condo developed by Amexon corporation in downtown Toronto. The sales center was very attractive and the offering looked very nice. However, I would like to share my experience as a new condo buyer from this developer. The unit occupancy was delayed numerous times for a total of close to two years. On occupancy the unit was full of defects in finishing and the quality of workmanship was poor. The defects which I reported to the developer were ignored completely. The forced to put in claims for warranty. Lastly and perhaps the most frustrating part was that after the last time they sent a new closing date (three weeks before the actual date) there was some delay in my bank who was providing the mortgage financing and I requested a five working day delay of closing. To my surprise the request was only accepted if I pay an eight thousand dollar ($8000) extension fee. Unfortunately I was forced to do that to avoid any legal ramifications of failure to close.
