The painter arrived on time, was friendly and courteous, carefully draped all areas, painted the kitchen walls and ceiling flawlessly, then primed and painted the upstairs cabinet. This required several coats and a return the next day. The painter did not try to rush to completion but returned and completed the job and cleaned up carefully afterward. Super job from start to finish!
This company was absolutely wonderful. They laid out the plan, they clearly outlined the costs (there were no surprises), they arrived as planned and completed the work within the time frame they provided at the outset.
We are completely satisfied with the outcome and have no complaints.
The whole process was exceptionally good. Quick replies on emails. Good suggestions. The painter did the best job ever. Fast and focused in his work. Very professional. We have a giant Newfoundlander who was always in the painter’s way but Talal just went around him.
I recommend this company. Just exceptional.
We just had our kitchen cabinets painted with Axcell and are extremely pleased. We found the whole process very professional, including a thorough estimate, good communication and detailed work and installation..
We would definitely recommend this company.

Very happy with the level of service we received. Chris and Rob were very responsive with the initial quote, arriving when they said they would and promptly following up with their written quote. James did an excellent job with the painting. He was professional, respectful and punctual. He left the house very clean every day, you couldn't even tell we were having work done.
I am a repeat customer of Axcell Painting; my first experience with them was excellent, but this latest experience was very disappointing. We hired Axcell to repaint our house we just bought. Delays happened, but the way they were managed was poor. Points were removed for the following reasons:
Communication: Initial communications were great–Rob was prompt and showed up on time for a walk-through of our home to confirm his estimate. However, once the job was booked and the painter was onsite, communication started lacking. From the start we had difficulties with the painter; we felt he wasn’t responsive to concerns we brought to his attention, and he thought we were pressuring him. Rob asked that any communications go through him. However, many communication attempts went unanswered, and when our concerns were shared with Rob, he blew us off and did not address them, leaving us frustrated and unhappy. Eventually, he did end up sending a different team to fix the work, which I’m sure ended up costing him time and money. Had this been addressed earlier when we brought it up, it would have saved everyone a headache.
Quality of Work: We went with a high quality paint – Benjamin Moore Aura. The colour we selected (Simply White – a popular colour) covered very poorly and required additional coats. This was the main reason for project delays and also significantly increased the price of the work due to the additional paint and labour required, but I can’t fault Axcell for this. The second point was deducted due to the quality of the painting job which I believe did not meet industry standard for quality for the reasons detailed below:
1) Prep – The painter did not adequately prep the walls (patching, sanding, etc.), nor vacuum/wipe down baseboards before painting them, resulting in bumpy texture and bad patch jobs.
2) Tools – The roller used by the painter was either of poor quality or uncared for because it left a lot of lint on the walls. Very visible and the #1 concern regarding the quality of the work. The painter didn’t sand in between coats and the lint kept piling on as coats were added. And from my communication point above, concerns raised about this were not initially addressed. The painter also didn’t bring a shop vac to vacuum particles and simply painted over the dust on the baseboards.
3) Cleanup – The painter did not adequately protect surfaces, so there ended up being splatters everywhere, as well as paint on hinges, light switches, hardware and on the hardwood/tile. To his credit, he did try to clean up, but missed half of it. I didn’t have the energy to micro-manage the cleanup, so I just took this one and spent a few hours to do it myself.
At the end, a different team was sent to address the poor quality work, and they did a great job with the prep, used proper tools, and did proper cleanup.
Promptness: Notwithstanding the two week delay on finishing the project, there were several no-shows on both the painter and Rob’s part. The latter was especially frustrating because we would arrange schedules to be present at agreed upon times, and Rob would not show up. Sometimes he would let us know that he couldn’t make the appointment (after the passed appointment time), but most of the time he would be a no-show and wouldn’t answer the phone when we called to inquire whether he was coming. Third point taken off.
In the end, Axcell sent a team to correct all the issues, and James and Devon did amazing work. They were nice to deal with, attentive and responsive, and paid attention to detail. However, if you want a painting service with good customer service, and peace of mind that you can be hands-off and the work will be done on-time, on-budget, and a quality result, Axcell Painting may not be the company for you.
Thank you so much for the professional kitchen painting service. Rob was extremely professional, dedicated and a fabulous guy to deal with. We love the work that was done and it’s obvious Axcell Painting takes pride in their work with the goal of service excellence. It was a pleasure working with Chris and Rob from planning to execution on this important kitchen refurbish, we are extremely impressed with the results.
This is the third time I have hired Axcell and will continue to use them for any painting needs. From the quote to the completion, they are professional and easy to deal with. The painter was punctual, friendly and hard working to get the job done. I appreciate how tidy they are too when on the job. Thank you.
