I had this corrugated aluminum awning installed with two skylights about 3 years ago. I should have done it years ago because it makes my deck like an outside living room all year long. I am very happy I did it with one exception that almost makes it not worth it. The gutter system they installed with the awning can’t be cleaned. I have to disconnect the downspout and really mess around to get a small metal hose nozzle in the other end to push the debris out. Very frustrating and when I asked about how to clean it I was told for an additional $600. They’d come out and replace it, it was a design flaw, sorry about that. I’m tempted to spend the money because of how frustrating it is cleaning it but I don’t believe it’s my fault that the system they installed is flawed.
My rating for quality is solely based on the gutter, the awning is amazing.
I hired this company to install a couple of patio awnings on my house. They are very responsive, and the pricing was reasonable. The product seemed to be pretty fair quality based on the pictures on their website.
The final installed product was pretty good, but had some flaws. There were parts where the paint was scratched off of the aluminum panels. The scratches were on top of the awning though, so it wasn't visible when underneath it, so I let it go. Overall, the material quality and installation was done pretty good.
However, the installation process was quite bad. The installers they sent were polite, but also loud and careless when they started the work. They smoked and threw cigarette butts all over my back yard. They left screws, scrap metal, and metal shavings in my back lawn. It's nearly impossible to get all of that out of the grass. I shudder to think how this is all going to mess up my lawn mower, and I have dogs as well, so hopefully the dogs don't eat any of this scrap metal. I informed the company about the issues with the installers, but they ignored me.
Also, I had a permit issue. Ultimately, it is my responsibility to get a permit, but I didn't know I needed one. This company knew that I needed one, but they chose not to tell me or check if I had one. It would've been common courtesy for them to at least give me a heads up. Now I have been forced to remove the awning and have wasted a substantial amount of money.
