Rob and his crew (Mike and Justin) just replaced my home furnace. They have in the past also replaced a furnace and air conditioner at my cottage. Always a pleasure to deal with Rob. Honest, reliable, fair prices and great service.
Excellent workmanship. Professional and rates are competative. He was able to get our furnace working within one day. Very personable and knowledgeable. My new furnace and coolant person for sure.
Great family run company, called Bob Pietz Heating & Cooling twice in 2016, first time was in the summer when our central air conditioner went on the fritz, we got fast and efficent service for Rob Pietz that day and barely broke a sweat as it got fixed same day as I called.
Then in late 2016 as winter was starting our furnace was acting up and we got three quotes from three different heating and cooling companies in Niagara Region, Bob Pietz Heating was the cheapest and the quickest, Rob initially said it would take two days for the job (remove and replace furnace, hot water tank and central air unit) but he and his guys had it done the same day, we will glaldy use this company again.
Not happy at all as the work took 6 1/2 weeks to finish and Rob Pietz walked off the job with his worker as Rob tried to force open my door to take other furnace that was suppose to be installed from them but still to this day sits on the floor in the same place they Rob placed it inside my unit, after I purchased it from him already. Upon discussion, in initial quote Rob said that no permit was needed, whereas it was as I was having both units changed from electric heat to gas heating, As we walked through both units he explained where he would put the vent holes and returns. He changed his plan as the weeks went on from 2 weeks initial completion date till 6 1/2 wks later making me pay for the electric bills another winter here. He would not supply me with a cold air return in the hallway like he explained to me initially making his theory of drawing air throughout the hallway to warm it, void. He also said he was going to vent in through the roof where 2 pipes would come out of the roof, but instead he vented these 2 pipes from standing on top of the porch roof and into the front brick wall. This new look on the front of my house defaces the value of my home. I asked him to place a cold air return on the right side of the doorway of where the furnace sits so I may be able to widen the doorway but he placed the vent on the left side and the furnace sit directly behind the other side of the entrance of the door on the right so I am not able to widen the doorway. He also left the powdered brick ontop of my porch roof from when he had plunged into my front brick wall with his brick tool he used to put 2 holes in the front of my house coming out from upstairs where they can clearly be seen. He took way beyond his initial statement to me in stating also that it would take 2 weeks for both installations in the 2 units altogether. Job started in late October 2014 when weather was clear and he then left for Christmas vacation off for 2 wks without even letting me know and then when upstairs window flew upen after I thought I sealed it good however, When he was suppose to be back from vacation was when window flew open and he was not working and then when he came he said he would fix the plumbing breaks but did not show back up until Friday and I waited for him from Tuesday morning when the lines burst, Then on Friday he finally tapped the lines so I could turn my water back on in my other attached unit where I live, so I went without water for more than 4 days cause after he only tapped the lines then I was told from him to call a plumber in. Duct work used for upstairs unit will not fit properly inside of furnace to compensate a air conditioning unit neither. His ducting size is too small for air conditioning unit to become attached. Even though I requested for that to be done also. He didn't use tape to properly wrap the furnace duct work inside attic which is only laid over the ducts and the insulation was left unfastened. Very shady job and I would not recommend Bob Pietz heating and air conditioning services as his son Rob or co-owner in company does not provide the work that he says he is going to do in any fashion.
