Yet again Butler plumbing and heating saves the day. Our Navion system shut down and was no longer producing heat due to an error code reading. Our Navion was installed by Habberjam whom are not very professional, and only caused us issues. There was no hot water and the temperature in the house dropped at 12° during winter. With the below -30 degrees we are to receive this week I was worried about our pipes freezing. Butler Plumbing Heating & Gasfitting Ltd. Was booked solid today however the service in office rep Travis was able to squeeze us in and have a technician come out. The technician Travis was able to immediately identify the issue, replace the part and fix the error code reading. A huge thank you to Travis for squeezing us in to have this fixed as we had no heat in the house and a huge thank you to our technician Travis for fixing our system.
I would first state that the service provider was friendly enough. Butler was recommended by another plumber who lacked the equipment to unplug a backed up water line draining the upstairs bathroom. First time he came, he was able to quickly "unplug" the line ans blamed the low flow toilet but said it was clear. Did nothing to the toilet. This was the first time we'd had problems in 4 years in a new house. 36 hours hours later, exactly the same thing happens. We're able to get him back, thinking the original problem was not fixed, which seems reasonable given this has now happened twice in 4 days but never previously in 4 years. No, apparently this is a whole new event, which means we get charged even more the 2nd time around.
At least this time, he turned up the flow in the toilet, so hopefully won't happen again....
I definitely feel the 2nd trip was completely avoidable (cost, inconvenience, time off work), if he had done what he should have the first time. Another 300$ for the 2nd trip. Needless to say, I was not impressed.
Robert,
Thank you for your feedback, concerns like yours bring attention to how we can improve our customers experience. I'm sorry this happened to you, and understand the inconvenience it caused. I agree, our second trip seems very avoidable, but I can assure you on the first trip, after the blockage in the toilet was cleared, the toilet was flushed 10 times to assure no blockage. On our second trip, upon flushing the toilet, it would not drain and the shower would back up. After clearing this blockage, we verified it was clear with water testing and a camera.
I hope everything is working good now, and you will have no future issue.
I requested a bathroom quote, Paul came over and was very friendly. He said he would send over someone to look at my tank-less hot-water system as well as he figured something was mechanically wrong with it. I told him I was planning on re-arranging the piping on the exterior of the house myself but couldn't figure out why it kept freezing off in the winter.
Worker showed up, called the manufacturer, didn't know North from South, rearranged the piping on the exterior of the house and flipped me a bill for $350 bucks at $125/hr for labour. This guy clearly was not a JNYMAN nor were they clear about how much or if I would be charged at all for doing this side project.
Rates are too high, skilled work is poor and no transparency. Do not recommend.
Hello, Thanks for your opinion. Sorry you didn't see value in your experience and the work we did for you. The worker was a journeyman, troubleshoot the problem, fixed it with help from the manufacturer, and left no stone unturned. My offer still stands if your unit ices up inside, we will refund you and go our separate ways.
The access point for this repair was covered by our finished basement ceiling - I was not looking forward to cutting a hole in it. Kevin gave it a look and with some creative thinking came up with a solution. We also really appreciated that the office called us to let us know that our appointment had to be pushed back an hour. There's nothing worse than sitting around waiting for someone to arrive. Great work; great communication.
Ernie we appreciate the feedback and the kind review. Thank you for taking the extra time to comment.
