Overall the work they did was acceptable, not great, but was reasonably priced. Almost all of the problems were a result of poor planning, rushed to finish forms while the concrete arrived at site, did not measure heights of columns that needed to be re-installed on new sidewalk, sprayed off exposed concrete but left concrete spray on everything (didn't wash down as they went), etc.. The workers were good, the project management was poor. There were a lot of deficiencies that took a long time to get resolved, but eventually were cleared up. Without a hold-back, I am not sure they would have been resolved.
