I am not too sure it matters now - the company seems to have disappeared - but I would not recommend this company for fence installation.
I had my fence installed in the Spring of 2020.
I immediately had issues with the gate. It was poorly made, had gaps around the bottom and the gate latch was giving me nothing but issues. Brandon came out several time to 're-hang' the door or install different latches. All fixes were temporary.
In addition, I have had two panels of the fence come undone. They were so poorly secured to the posts that they are now falling off one by one.
It is now Spring 2021 and I am paying a different contractor to come redo the post because it is significantly leaning and that is the reason none of the latches will work. They are also reattaching the panels to the posts properly.
I did reach out to Brandon this year, but have yet to get a response. It is unfortunate that our neighbors would run a business this way, Brandon lives not too far from me.
Would definitely not recommend due to poor workmanship and having issues with getting support after the work is complete. Very expensive for what you get.
We hired Caitlin and Brandon Rowsell from his business CB Pro Builders (since been taken down) to complete our Basement. Our first meeting with Brandon was positive and we were confident that Brandon would create my husbands vision. We were encouraged to write this review to save future clients the headache of Brandon's workmanship.
Our saving grace through this whole ordeal is that my husband was home to watch the construction and after countless emails, verbal confrontations and the promise to take them to court, Brandon finally hired professional contractors to salvage some of the botched work that he created.
I have attached some of many pictures and videos that I took of this ordeal. Here is a run down of some of the items we had to deal with:
- Installed Plank floor down without levelling (we made him pull it up and hired someone to level it as we didn't trust him. Added cost to us
- Stairs lifting and gaps between risers and noising. Brandon finally hired someone that knew what he was doing and had experience with Stairs.
- Baseboards and Trim was hired out by a professional but was told to leave the bathroom for Brandon to do. Bathroom baseboards looks like a toddler did it.
- Cabinets weren't installed level after showing Brandon finally took them down and reinstalled.
- Drywall finishing's and paint done by Brandon was horrible.
- Countertops purchased put together with a silicone seam in the middle. Hired a Professional to fix it only to discover that our drywall was cut out by Brandon so he didn't have to cut the counter tops.
- Bar trim to cover gap was baseboard (claims that it looks good)
- Wine cellar door to storage was a piece of MDF board that would have to be lifted out of slots instead of an actual door (video to long to post) This eventually was fixed with doors that open.
The only positive review socially comes from part owner Caitlin.
Our advice to consumers is to carefully watch the construction and question something that does not look right and document everything. I believe in crediting people where credit is due and support family owned businesses. After continually seeing Brandon operating his business with the same complaints, I felt that we should tell our story to warn customers that shell out their hard earned money to people like this.
The service received from this company is terrible. We had a fence built by them last summer. It was not a long fence, only about 20 feet long with two gates, one at the front and one at the back. It took them three weeks to build the fence, and was quite expensive. The gates look terrible and poorly made. It has been less than a year since this was built and our front gate is already falling apart and is very difficult to close. There is an exposed screw that is a risk to our dogs. There are large gaps between the post and the house to the point where we we're concerned about our puppy squeezing through and escaping when he was younger. There is also a large gap at the bottom of both the front and back gates large enough that cats have been getting into our yard. Do not use this company. I am pretty sure they went out of business because their website is no more, and the email I contacted them with last summer is no longer working when I tried to let them know about the gate to see if they would come fix it. At this point even if they came to fix it I wouldn't trust them to do it properly.
The most disappointing thing for me though isn't their poor quality and expensive price, it's that we hired them as they live in our neighborhood and we wanted to support a company near to us. The owner lives on the next street over. So not only did they do an incredibly poor job, they did this to people in their community.
I don't even know where to start with this whole mess. When we first had Brendan come out and give us a quote on tearing down our deck and rebuilding it we really liked his energy and seemed to know what he was talking about. We did get a total of three more quotes and decided to go ahead with CB Pro Builders, BIGGEST MISTAKE WE EVER MADE. Our deck started to fall apart with in day's. We tried calling Brendan and left him a message and never received a call back. Than a few months later my husband was walking down the stairs of the deck and the step fell right off, we were so lucky it was not one of our elderly parents walking down the steps. My husband called Branden and it was a few days later he finally called back and said he would come out and fix it. When he came to fix the broken board Branden himself stepped on the top step of our deck and fell right though the screw that was holding the board in gashed him in the leg bad enough he hade to leave and go to the hospital. THIS IS HIS CRAFTMANSHIP!!!!!!!!. finally a few weeks later he comes back braces all the steps and replaces the broken step he went through with a pc of garbage wood!!!!!. Our deck that he built is so unsafe if you were to put any pressure on the railing it self it would come right off and the deck is about 15' up. Branden was so happy with this horrible job he did even took pictures to put on his website. Please see all photos I even have a screen shot of our crappy deck he has posted on his website, I'm sure once he sees this review he will be taking it off of his website. I will be posting this on Kijiji as well as Facebook. Stay away it's not worth the headache and extra money you will have to spend to have a whole new deck rebuilt.
Hi Sandra,
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We are so sorry that you had a negative experience. Our goal is the total satisfaction of our customers and to provide a positive experience. While we have not had a client by the name of Sandra, we have been in communication with a client who we believe is your husband and he informed us that you would be calling us. We have not yet received your call.
While regular wear and tear of wooden decking structures will occur (boards splitting, etc), we want you to be confident in the workmanship and the safety of your deck. Please contact us at brandon@cbprobuilders.com so that we can assist you.
Brandon and his team finished my basement in my new duplex. Their price was fair and they did an excellent job. It’s the same level of quality that I got for my whole house build so I’m a happy camper!
Would use them again if I ever needed to do any updates in the house but it’ll probably be a while since it’s a new build.
