Jeremy sure is a good talker. He bungled many things including the trusses twice leaving me with a horrid looking tie-in to my existing house. Promised to come out and do work for free, as compensation have not seen him since. Half way through construction we were told by Jeremy that he had closed his company and was passing our job onto another couple guys. It was a complete nightmare. Unbelievable.
Beware bad business!!!
Not good work at all. Spent very little time doing work, yet took half a year and even tried asking for more money after he was paid in full. Very disappointed. Showed up when ever in the day and has yet to put in a full day once. Didn't order what he said he would, only to change his mind and good luck getting doors now. Also charged for vent cleaning and didn't even attempt to get that done. Also charged an obscene amount for cabinets and flooring and now we aren't even sure it will get done. Will most likely have to pay someone else to finish the job hes been paid to do. Claimed he needed money upfront for things he didn't even follow through with. A huge disaster and the worst stress I've ever experienced, took advantage of an unexperienced single mother of two with no remorse. Had to have someone step in and take over due to the lack of decorum shown by Mr Sanford. No person should ever have to experience that!!
I would like to have met you in person Donna to discuss this with you instead of having never met you before and getting to know you in this way.
I want to start by saying I tried working with you're daughter to get a result she wanted on a limited budget. I added and removed walls, which were not a part of the original plan. I added a laundry room, kitchen and went from a standing shower to adding a full tub, at my own cost.
Kitchen:
The original cabinets that I was suppose to use were wrecked during removal by another company. I told your daughter that if she were to buy the cabinets I would install them at no extra cost, even though there was going to more of them and used in a completely different orientation than the original cabinets, which is more labour and again at my cost.
Bathroom:
The orignal standing shower was in pretty bad shape, and we agreed that it should be replaced, I told her that if she bought the tub and surround, I would install at my cost. The decision to buy them took a long time, so I purchased the tub myself.
Flooring:
The expense of redoing the floors was neither contracted by me or was I involved in dealing with the floors. The only conversation I had with the homeowner regarding the floors was for me to leave your daughter my largest hammer drill, so that she could fix a few spots where it was lifting, to make it easier for floor installation.
Paint:
I sent your daughter to charge on my account the paint choices she wanted, which was more than twice the original paint cost, and because I was supposed to only repaint to the original flat white, instead of the 5 colours she chose which is also more labour, we agreed that if I bought her all the material to paint, she would handle the painting. I don't like to install doors before the walls are painted and never did so, because the walls were not painted.
Many of the delays were brought on by poor communication. I believe that had all parties been involved from the beginning this situation could have been avoided.
As far as I know, the tub surround has been ordered and the cabinets have been ordered. I would like to finish and install these. I'm not sure who has stepped in the take over but if allowed, I'd like the opportunity to complete this.
I purchased a home that required complete updating. This included a new kitchen, bathroom, floors, roof, demolition of a wall, concrete patio, celing work and painting in addition to moving the washer and dryer in the home from kitchen area to a walk in storage area. Cedar Works provided a quote quickly and stuck to the budget. Jeremy was very easy to work with. We made changes to the project as we got into it and he was flexible. He provided ideas and creative solutions to some of the problems that came up. This included installing a beautiful coffered ceiling and using live edge wood for a breakfast bar. Jeremy has a strong attention to detail and demanded that from the people he brought on to help with the job as well. He helped in securing other trades (electrical, concrete) as required. He worked long hours and got the job done very quickly. And most impressive, unlike many other contractors I have worked with, he cleaned up when he was done the job and cleaned well. He always made time to talk and review the project. I was very impressed with his work and will definitely hire him again.
Jeremy from Cedar Worx did a complete basement and bathroom renovation for me. THe entire basement was gutted and refinished. He did a great job on the finishing works and provided me with what we wanted - a "fit-for-purpose" renovation. He also did the work according to the estimate he provided. He is a very friendly and trustworthy guy!
Friendly team of workers.
Said work would be done in a week and a half but took four weeks. Work was done well however.
Work materials were cleaned up every day so home did not feel like chaos due to reno's.
I was very pleased with my experience with Cedar Worx. Jeremy was a pleasure to work with and was willing to change my quote when I asked for additional things. The work was done efficiently and I have had no problems ever since. I was fully expecting to pay the price he quoted me but after he completed the work he deducted a few hundred dollars because less material and time was spent than anticipated. I will definitely be calling them again for any future work I may have.
This past winter we decided to have the interior of our home painted and all the carpet in the house replaced with oak flooring. It was no problem to find someone to lay the flooring, but to get someone to quote a price on our curved staircase was another story. Our friends referred us to a fellow by the name of Jeremy Sanford who owns Cedar Worx Home Improvement. We went to see a home in Moose Jaw which Jeremy worked on. Both of us agreed that Jeremy did a great job. Our next step was to contact Jeremy and have him come over to our house and give us a quote on the painting and curved staircase. We were satisfied with Jeremy's quote. The painting was done on time but it took Jeremy quite a while to finish the curved staircase. Not only did he do a good job - he did an excellent job!!! Jeremy is a very friendly person and constantly kept us informed as to whether or not he could work on the staircase. We would highly recommend Jeremy Sanford of Cedar Worx Home Improvement for all your building and upgrades. We are sure you will be pleased with his outstanding work.
