We wanted to upgrade our master bedroom double doors with French doors. Charley came recommended by a local hardware store, and we were not disappointed. He was friendly and personable, gave us a reasonable quote and in the end provided quality work, with attention to detail. We also appreciated how well he cleaned up after himself.
It may have been a smaller job, but it was important to us, and we appreciate it! Highly recommend!
Alex, thank you so much for your delightful review. You were both a pleasure to work for and I would be happy to do so again anytime.

Wrought iron railings don't last forever in Southern Ontario. Or anywhere else, for that matter. I don't know how long ours did, but it was in place when we bought the house 21 years ago. The ravages of time, weather and rust caught up with it.
It was time for a change. We looked around, talked to friends who'd had similar work done, and settled on Charley Nelson. He carefully explained our options and left us with a full-colour brochure for the preferred solution.
Charley finished the project on time and at our agreed upon price. He took the old railing away and cleaned up after himself when the project was completed.
We made the right choice when we selected Charley's proposal.
Hands down best experience I’ve ever had with a contractor. Charley did an amazing job from start to finish. Was a man of his word and made us feel comfortable during the entire project. Charley excels at professionalism and honest work, guarantees everything he does and shows up ON TIME and gets the job done the same way. Reasonable price and exceptional workmanship. 11/10

I started building exterior structures in the late 90's, sheds, gazebos, decks and fences. Did some interlocking stone patios, driveways and porches. By the early 2000s I had developed tiling and drywall skills, and took on bathrooms and basements. I started doing kitchens in 2003, and finding the appalling quality of off the shelf cabinetry, I learned quickly how to strengthen them with strategically placed glue and screws. I then started my own brand of kitchen cabinets built with joints and glue, no flat pack philosophy. I installed them on custom made levelling frames and had custom doors made by a local tradesman. That lead to creating built in custom stove vents, storage units, fireplaces and custom closets and pantries. In 2008 I started a full construction company with many employees and concentrated on developing my own carpentry skills.
With budgets being constrained, I left the company in 2012 and started a smaller business, concentrating on custom built kitchens, bathrooms and recreation rooms.
I design kitchens using off the shelf units and custom units, depending on the needs of my customers. In recent years I have been designing furniture, tables, that join together with no hardware, glues or screws. Just old fashioned joints and wooden fasteners. My focus now is to fine tune my cabinetry and furniture skills, and apply those skills to kitchens, bathrooms and decks. Yes, decks. There's no reason your outdoor living space need be sparse of fine detail, including well placed stone to enhance the layout.
