I am very disappointed with this company's s service. I used their services successfully several years ago but didn't realize that their fees for a service call went up so much ($ 130 for a 10 minutes visit). However the worst part is that they were given the model number by phone and could have told us at that time that they don't make parts anymore for this particular model as it is more than 5 years old. This should have been communicated to us by phone, sparing us an unnecessary expense. According to my partner, the technician spent the total of 10 minutes looking at the stove and left.
When I called later to ask about the high service charge and the lack of information beforehand, the man on the other line yelled at me and was arrogant and borderline insulting. Needless to say, I will not use their services again or recommend them to anyone else.
I am very satisfied with City Appliance.
Called five PM. Fridge was serviced next day at noon hour. The part (control board) worth 200 dollars at Reliable Parts on 149th street. Took him 20 minutes to install new board. I defrosted freezer my self and also he instructed me to remove just a little freon myself with the fill fitting at the pump as the last repair guy put too much freon in the system. I have let a wee bit out twice and the icing at the compressor is almost fixed. He charged me $200 for the part which is what I would have paid $75 for the call and $50 for the half hour he spent at our house.
Shockingly poor manners and personality. Very rude and inappropriate. Had to come three times for this job and couldn't wait for him to be done! Demanded a glass of water as soon as he walked in the door on the second visit and proceeded to tell me he'd been sitting outside for 15 minutes at 2pm when he told me he was coming between 2-4pm. There is this thing called get out of your van and knock or call so I know you are here!
I could not understand about this customer who have two face one at the front very happy and behind the back think something else.she given me 5 out of 5 for courtesy manners and in review she said he have poor manners,other when u have given full marks for courtesy then how can u say I was very rude,,if you say could I get glass of water please ,how it can be demanded ,she told me that her daughter have nap in the after noon and I did know the door and I did not ring the door will,I don't understand what I can say about ''tis customer,I did here appliance twice at her own house and their rental property's twice.also I told the total price before I did the work and I show her every thing running also I clean the floor and her washer machine.i don' t know what else she was looking for.
We called City Appliance after looking at multiple reviews online to come and fix our washing machine which was not filling with water. The man who came was on time and nice enough. After replacing our hoses, he said he was done and left. The visit was nothing out of the ordinary.
After using our washing machine (which is on the second floor) a handful of times, we noticed water spots on our ceiling below the washing machine and down the wall. When we pulled the washing machine out, we found water underneath it and noted the only leak was water coming from the hose where it attached to the machine. The new hoses were installed by City Appliance. On investigation, they overtightened the hose which caused a water leak.
When my husband called City Appliance, he spoke with Sagoo, the manager. He wanted to let the company know about the mistake that was made and the damage that ensued. Sagoo then told my husband that this company takes no responsibility for any damage that occurs after their services have been provided. He was not sorry about the damage and offered no solution. I then called and spoke with Sagoo who again reiterated that he takes no responsibility for any damage from the work that his company does. He was very clear that their work is not guaranteed and that it is not in any way their problem despite the water coming from the exact place that they worked. No compensation or apology was offered. Sagoo was very unprofessional on the phone and hung up on me.
My husband and I are now paying to repair our wall, including: insulation, drywall, taping, mudding and hiring professional painters all because of a mistake made by this company. We have spent about $2000 to fix the damage caused by their appliance repair. We have not only incurred the full cost to repair the damage City Appliance caused, but we have also lived with the inconvenience of our kitchen being subject to repairs.
It was very difficult to deal with this company and their work is not done right. They do not take any responsibility for their work and will not compensate if damage occurs. Overall, terrible experience and I will not recommend them to anyone. We are very sorry we contacted this company at all.
