A very knowledgeable and professional technician, Eric was very polite and very knowledgeable, most professional installer, he did Not leave before we were satisfied, prompt and accommodating. The owner Mr. Manny was not pushing the sale, tried to understand our needs and budget. This is our second home that we have had This amazing team on board.
Do not let these people anywhere near your home! Our experience...new furnace installed five months ago. House goes up for sale so we need inspections done. Request the permit number from the company. Nothing. Call again. Nothing. Send two emails. Nothing. Call again. You see the pattern. Two months later we get the permit so the city can do it's inspection. I was given all kinds of excuses by the receptionist. She forgot, she was busy, she was busy, she will get to it, she said they didn't need one. Eventually she admitted they never pulled the permit and would have to apply for one. Great. We had the city inspect. Furnace did not pass inspection, safety concerns! It was not up to code! Call company to request they fix it, because their website says 100% satisfaction guaranteed after all. Receptionist said they will get to it maybe next week if they have time. Was pretty nasty about it too. I mentioned I will include their 'customer service' in my review. She lost it. Screaming and yelling. Manny, the owner, calls me later. Screams at me that we did not ask for a permit and did not specify it needed to be done 'up to code'. What?! That is their job! Not only a safety hazard but totally against city regulations as well. Beware of this company. They are the very worst kind of people. Who treats customers like that? If they don't want bad reviews they shouldn't do a crappy job in the first place.
They called a week later and said they would come out and fix it, I said we already had someone else clean up their mess. Their response: "okay perfect". Yes perfect for them, they didn't have to do the work we paid them to do. Unbelievable.
Comfortable home systems installed a new furnace 4 years ago. Having furnace cleaned there was water leaking around the condensation pipe. Manny came out and inspected the problem and fixed the issue. I find him to be an honest owner installer and I trust our HVAC needs with his company. I appreciate his professionalism.
Being a male, I waited till 32c before calling around for A/C. 4 big heating and a/c companies in Edmonton raised their pricing cause I was in a bind. Finding Comfortable Home Systems saved me. Talked to Barb and the next day a service tech Manny was out. It was like Manny was working on his own home, did the work with pride! Price was great and didn't try to up sell me like the others.
Purchased our AC system from Comfortable Home Systems. Installation was faulty - leaking lines - was given many excuses for the leaks dripping onto our product - in the end the fluid drained completely and the compressor burned out. Had to hire a different company to come clean up the mess Manny and his people left. Comfortable Home Systems refused to take responsibility for their negligence - buyer beware.
I've since noticed a rebuttal to my initial comments. To be clear - the unit outside was NOT hit with a truck. The problem stemmed from the aforementioned leaking inside - a problem that was brought to the attention of Comfortable Home Systems immediately, but was never solved. In terms of the parts, I asked that they be provided to our new service people - we were told they couldn't do that (meaning there WERE no parts I suspect).
Brad,
I am very sorry that you think Comfortable Home Systems did not take responsibility for this unit that was installed August 2014. The parts we ordered took 6 weeks to come from the factory.
This outside unit was hit by truck and might have knocked and loosened parts. Comfortable Home System did try to take responsibility for this unit.
We have two furnaces in our 46-year old house, one is original and the "newer" one is over 20 years old. We decided that it was time to replace one or both after we had Atco in to inspect the furnaces and they shut the old one down for safety reasons.
A friend referred us to Comfortable Home Systems, a St. Albert company that does residential and commercial heating and air conditioning. I called them up and the owner promptly arranged to come over to estimate the job. I was reassured by the owner's prefessionalism and knowledge. Like most people, we do not have an unlimited budget and Comfortable Home Systems was willing to work with me to select the best models for our needs. We didn't end up selecting the cheapest models, but we didn't end up with the most expensive either. In the end, we selected a higher-end model for the furnace that did most of the work and a more basic model for the one that sees less duty.
About a week after the the estimate three Comfortable Home Systems employees arrived at my home and in one busy day, both of our old furnaces were removed and two new units were heating the house perfectly. The job clean-up was very good; no scraps left behind or dirty bootprints on the floors. They used thick drop cloths which protected our floors.
I appreciated that the owner came by on Friday afternoon a couple days after the installation to explain our new furnaces. We discussed filter change intervals and options for summer/winter fan settings. This job really couldn't have gone any better!
Manny first came on Sept 13 and advised what was wrong. Said he would return Sept 19. Forgot to book the appointment with Barb and never showed up. Then said he would return Sept 26 at 8:00 - showed up around 10:20 because his worker never showed. After replacing the parts which were under warranty, he was supposed to redo the gas line to the furnace as it did not meet his standard. The quote was for all the work. He did not do the gas line work as it would take too much time yet still charged me $600 for the first furnace. Needed another appointment to do the same work on the second furnace - still has not called me back - been 4 weeks now. Still waiting. Won't call them again and definitely won't recommend them.
Very very pleased with the job done by Comfortable Home Systems. Our new furnace works great, and he did a spectacular job on installing new duct runs into an addition in our home. Couldn't be happier, and I would definitely recommend them to others.

The owner Manny L promised a one week, trouble free installation. The installation took closer to 4 weeks. Mr. L the journeyman relied on his apprentices to complete all the work. He was at our home for less than 4-5 hours the entire time providing no supervision to the apprentices. In fact he went on holiday for a week during the installation of the furnaces.
The inspections were to be completed by the City of St. Albert, however these were never scheduled by the company. We had to set our own appointments. Then we were notified by the City that the building permits which were to be picked up before work started, were never obtained by Comfortable Home Systems. We had to reschedule the City Inspections several times until the company pulled the proper permits.
Upon inspection the City of St Albert notified us of several deficiencies in the installation which needed to be corrected before we could continue with construction. We set up an appointment with the company to have these deficiencies corrected. On the appointment day May 9th, 2016 I took off a work day to be home.
Manny L entered the house, went downstairs with me spent less than a minute surveying the furnace room, “yelled out I’m not playing these games”, rudely informed me that he would not fix any of the noted problems. Since that day he and his company, Comfortable Home Systems, refuses to return calls, text messages or emails.
I paid for the entire installation. I will now have to hire another contractor to come and repair the noted deficiencies and problems, which of course will cost me extra.
Here is the list of uncorrected deficiencies:
-The furnace was installed too close to the hot water tank which does not allow proper access to the hot water tank for servicing
-The air intake to one of the furnaces was improperly installed causing cold air to flow directly into the furnace which causes it to constantly run. Air is not running through a filter system.
-The humidifier was improperly installed, so we have water constantly running even when the furnace is not working. The humidifier has to be shut off since it doesn’t function properly.
-There were vents that needed to be capped. This was also never done.
Other problems we encountered:
-The furnace installation was so poorly thought out that servicing in the future will be difficult.
-We paid for a modulating furnace but did not receive the proper thermostat to control it.
-We had a new air conditioner installed, which was not even turned on. In fact we don’t yet even know if it works yet.
-There were several gaping holes left in the walls from installation errors which were never repaired and they charged extra for their mistakes.
-When the workers left our house they didn’t even take the time to clean up after themselves.
If you do hire them I strongly suggest:
Get a quote / contract in writing. Don’t trust his word. I made that mistake.
Ensure you retain a hold back amount until the inspections have been fully approved.
