I recently bought a new refrigerator from Corbeil, and their in-house movers turned out to be severely unprepared. They caused significant damage as they transported the appliance to my kitchen, resulting in holes in my walls, broken wooden railings, and extensive scratches on my newly-installed hardwood floor.
When I reached out to voice my concerns and seek resolution, I was met with a disappointing response as they refused to accept any responsibility for the damages.
Worst customer experience of my life. After almost a calendar year, multiple failed delivery dates, no updates or return calls I asked for my money back.
2 weeks later, no money received yet and they still won't call back. No apologies anywhere in this process, they simply don't care.
Do not even think about doing business with these crooks!
Blomberg dishwasher delivered to me damaged. I was offered a $50rebate which I accepted provided the dishwasher was in working order. I also bought washer/dryer from this store.
The first time I ran the dishwasher it was making a noise which I recorded and also contacted the store. I was instructed to call the manufacturer directly and make arrangements for the service to come out which I had to chase because nobody was calling me back. Service came two weeks later to inform me that the machine is damaged and cannot be repaired because of the excessive damage done at the store level.
Now I'm being told that I have to be out of pocket again to uninstall and reinstall the dishwasher. To appease me I am told that there is a cheque in the mail for $50.00. I still don't have a replacement
This company is not interested in resolving issues as indicated below. I received a call from Tania who proceeded to call me a liar that "it does not cost $180 to uninstall and reinstall a dishwasher". I explained that plumbers are $80 an hour and it took them two hours to do this. Her response was "you over paid and my boyfriend can hook one up in 15 minutes". I told her I had the invoice which does not include the cost to hook up the original damaged dishwasher. The delivery person they have is the only person who went to bat for me and he knew that I took the damaged dishwasher in good faith and signed off that I was only accepting it provided it was in working order. According to Tania "he is JUST a delivery person he has no say as to the outcome of anything". I called GM once again no response. DISCUSSED!! COST TO HOOK UP ORIGINAL DAMAGED DISHWASHER ELECTRICIAN $65.00 PLUMBER $80.00. COST TO UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL REPLACEMENT PLUMBER $184.00. TOTAL COST FOR CORBEIL'S SCREW UP $329.00 NO REBATE AND A CHEQUE FOR $50.00 TO INSTALL THE REPLACEMENT
Beware Corbeil Appliances Pinecrest Mall and Maytag Bravos washer!!
We were just a couple in our mid 70s. Our old washer and dryer finally gave up and we decided to get brand new ones. Corbeil Appliances is located nearby. We immediately informed the salesman we wanted the lowest price appliances. Oh no he convinced us to get the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer. Highly recommended them. We would save
so much money on water. So many options ...
The first month after purchase we were away most of the time and didn’t use the machines. Next month quickly realized our clothes were still dirty after washing. Soap spots and a smell of detergent still in the clothes. This is because virtually no water is used. Maybe two cups. Top of clothes don’t even get wet. No agitator. Clothes come out badly wrinkled. And they stink.
Decided to visit shop today to request return. Nope, only in first month the salesman Jon Roche tells us but the decision rests with the manager Jay Armstrong. Ha! He immediately says no chance. We have policy you know. Would be laughed at if he asked! He then proceeded to tell us he hears the same complaints about this Maytag washer all the time. Agrees with us that the machine in dreadful. In reply to our suggestion they shouldn’t be selling them he replied he wished they weren’t.
Why on earth would Jon Roche the salesman convince us to buy a machine with so many defects? He was just doing his job was the reply, doing what Maytag told him to do.
Jay Armstrong, manager told us: we should be dividing our clothes into six tiny loads to get them clean (salesman never mentioned this)... washer just functioning as it should, we were given misguided information, manager said he wishes he could just put a blanket over the Maytag and not sell them, hears about the clothes wrinkling all the time, say it it because of spin, too strong. Half the clothes don’t even get wet ... hears this complaint all the time.
And they just keep on selling Maytag Bravos. No problem that customer will be upset and angry that washer doesn’t work.
Asked what they do with machines returned in first month ... sold used. But they can’t sell them used after two months? Used only for a month. No. Too bad for us he said ... as in too bad so sad.
We left the store very upset and dismayed.
All that money spent on a machine the Jon Roche told us was wonderful and no recourse now that we know the washer is defective and never should have been manufactured . There is no way around the water problem. They will tell you to use the larger load option. But this doesn’t work. Machine doesn’t like it and empties.
Jay Armstrong finally says he must try a top loading washer. He has never actually used the machine. Is training just believe what you are told?
Corbeil should be ashamed. Selling highly inferior product to older couple and no regret. No assistance.
As someone said earlier. They answer your calls when yo are buying. When you have an issue, sales person not available and there are no managers on hand!
They do not stay behind the product they sell, they do jot give you a good advice when you are buying. All what they care about is make the sale! Their Whirlpool Washer machine they sold us does not clean the clothes and they are not willing to rectify the issue!
This horrible business gets one star, only because zero star is not an option.
PRO:
The location is conveniently situated beside Ikea.
CONs:
This business is a "dealer" and will NOT stand behind their products and provide the normal customer service you would expect from a big box store. If you have an issue they are not helpful at all. They are extremely stubborn and will try to get your out of their store ASAP. They will force you to communicate with the manufacturer (in this case it was General Electric [GE] Washing Machine). Please do not underestimate what a nuisance & frustrating time-drain this will be!!!
Our issue took more than 13 weeks of frustrating communication. Finally we resorted to filing a dispute with the credit card company. We also told them if they don't resolve the issue there will be honest reviews written on Yelp etc. After a huge amount of time wasted on the phone with Corbeil & GE, many e-mails, in-store visits, and threatening legal action --we finally got a partial refund. After all the hassle, we thought the least they could do would be to not charge us for picking up their item. However they charged us to haul away their defective item which NEVER worked properly even one time. At that point we just wanted closure and not have to deal with their shady business tactics any more.
Our ordeal included reprogram (failed), replace control board (failed), attempt reprogram (failed), service call (cancelled because no parts), service call (cancelled AGAIN because no parts). During this time we did not have an appliance to use. We were treated like WE were the problem and an interruption to their day. In addition it was difficult to try to narrow down the time frame for their service calls. Be prepared for someone to stay home the entire day to accommodate their schedule.
Do not just walk away from this business, RUN! If you purchase from this company, make sure you read all the fine print. Know what you are getting into. Keep track of all your receipts, invoices, phone calls etc. If you have a problem, you should expect virtually no customer support from Corbeil. They will divert you away to deal directly with the manufacturer. Dealing with the manufacturer consists of many phone calls and lots of time wasted on hold. In the meantime, don't expect to use the shiny new appliance you thought you would get to enjoy.
If you are thinking about ordering an item, it won't hurt to check it out first at Corbeil. They have a large inventory but DEFINITELY PURCHASE ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!
Service was fine until I purchased the product.
The Frigidaire Gallery series glass-top stove is very difficult to clean. I called customer service and spoke to "Susan" who gave detailed instructions of how to clean the stove with mixtures of baking soda and peroxide in a multi-step and time-consuming process (this is how to clean after every use). I have 3 teenage sons, so this product is not a good choice for me, nor was I told about the special cleaning requirements. At this point, I'm sure chopping wood and cooking over a campfire would be less labour intensive.
She told me that over time, the glass top will 'settle' and form a skin so that it won't leave so many streaks.
I have been trying for a few months, but the stove top looks 10 years old. I have 2 university degrees yet, according to Corbeil I don't have the qualifications to clean a stove top.
I called into ask for a return/exchange/refund but they only do that for 30 days with a 20% restocking fee.
Corbeil referred me to 'Electrolux'. I am expected to call the parent company and make a complaint about the product.
There is no accountability for the quality of the products they sell. Buyer beware. No customer service at Corbeil. I will never shop there again.
I purchased a washer and dryer I paid for delivery and installation for a rental property that I own. The driver pulled up and right away noticed that the appliances would not fit in the space where they were to go he did not offer to place the appliances in the garage or allow the renter to call me nor did he call the store for direction. I ended up with a $300 delivery charge and I tried to argue it and long story short I am out well over $400. Tried to speak to above was refused. In fact the district manager left me a voicemail telling me to stop calling him that he can't do anything for me. What kind of customer service is this? I am about to go to the paper as I have still not been able to discuss my issue. Before the driver drove off he should've placed a call to the store or asked for direction. This charge should be to the driver and not me because I could've put the washer and dryer in the basement. I would've never allowed this charge at the end of the day. I paid for the washer and dryer therefore it is mine regardless whether it fits in the space or not they are still my appliances if I wanted to put them in the kitchen. I should have the right to do so but I was not given that basically told I'm not allowed to have the appliances as they did not fit the space where they are planning to go.
