Core Renovations

After completing a renovation of our living room and kitchen in the last few years, we once again hired Core Renovations for our third project, a complete overhaul of our basement and powder room. The work included a demolition of the existing rooms, installing a drywall ceiling, replacing electrical, plumbing, flooring, trim and tiles in addition to wall papering and paining. The rooms now have a fresh and modern look and have been completely transformed. Kyle has once again exceeded our expectations. The job was completed on time and budget with meticulous craftsmanship. We look forward to our next next project with Kyle and highly recommend him.

I have hired Kyle many times for both my home and office renovations, as well as to work on-set for various Cityline TV renovation projects, and there is no other contractor I would trust more than him. Wow! Great work, communications and attitude. Even our neighbours stated what a hard and diligent worker. The temperature was up to 90F with humidity and this did not stop you from working or staying on schedule.

The workmanship, and key to doing it right will give us years of worry free, and up to code, peace of mind.

A key I look for is after the project is over, did the professional clean up after themselves? Did they finish the little things? Take away their leftovers/garbage? The answer here was yes. To me this reflects a pride in the persons work.

Last year Kyle renovated our living room and we were thrilled with the results, so we hired Core Renovations again to completely renovate our kitchen (replacing floor, cabinetry, backsplash, feature brick wall, trim/baseboards, painting, electrical work). With all the craziness you see on television and the nightmare contractor stories you hear from friends of friends, I was very reluctant to get my very first renovation of my life started. I contacted one contractor and I never got a call back so that was the end of that. Then someone from work let me know about Kyle McCormack and his company, Core Renovations. Only positive comments were made about Kyle. Words such as “reliable,” “honest,” and “clean,” were used. I called Kyle and he came over the next day to give me a quote on my kitchen renovation. I immediately hired Kyle and from that moment on, he took all the pressure off of me and dealt with everything efficiently. I was sure that finding the exact tiles and counter top material to suit my style was going to be a challenge, but Kyle had great recommendations and I was able to find exactly what I wanted! Core Renovations installed laminate flooring, baseboards and thresholds on the upstairs level of my home and they look AMAZING. Kyle was very professional and knowledgeable during the installation. He custom designed a beautiful threshold for the top of my stairs that fit perfectly between the existing spindles. I appreciated that he arrived on time and stayed within our budget for this renovation. I will definitely use Core Renovations again when I am ready for my next renovation.

We hired Core Renovations to continue to improve our 1850 Georgian Century home, situated on a three acre estate property in the country. There were various jobs that had to be done- first was the installation of moulding and trim to the exact and complicated standards created by the true craftsmen of a century ago. The repair and painting of two story horse hair and lath walls was completed quickly and professionally, with no trace of the bumpy texture remaining. Many years of paint were removed from the grand staircase, with each tread painstakingly stripped, sanded and refinished to perfection. Kyle approached these jobs with enthusiasm and diligence, and during each step of the process he maintained a meticulous worksite and discussed every exacting aspect of the process with us. As a focal piece to an outside garden area, he constructed a very sturdy and complicated pergola to our design specifications. Kyle was very approachable, knowledgeable and ready to help us to create our vision, no matter how difficult it was. Thank you for a job well done!
