CSC Renovations

Jamie was recommended by my previous contractor (who is now in a different line of work), and he did a sterling job on the awful washroom in my 105-year-old house in November 2013. We discussed broadly the look I wanted and I left everything to him. He gutted and rebuilt the washroom, upgraded the plumbing and selected the fittings and paint (I had told him upfront that I had no time or patience to pore over colour charts or choose fittings). He and his assistant Mac were calm and patient throughout, and they completed the project largely on time and on budget. I now have a beautiful washroom that never fails to draw praise from guests.

Fast forward to August 2015, and I had a home emergency to deal with. My washing machine busted and flooded the upstairs, and the water quickly poured down through the kitchen ceiling. The SOS went out to Jamie, who advised me to shut off the breaker for the kitchen lights. He was on another big job and could not come to deal with it immediately. But he was very calm and told me not to worry, to leave it to him, that he would take care of it all for me. He did just that last week. He replaced the damaged kitchen ceiling, and patched and painted the upstairs. He and Mac were also kind enough to do a couple of other jobs that were not part of the plan. Thanks guys, you're awesome!

Needless to say, I have no hesitation in recommending Jamie for any home renovation project, large or small.

Second time we have worked with Jamie. As always was a pleasure to have him and his team working on a project in our house. The basement looks great, and have been pleased with the results. Following the project we had one concern, and Jamie was very quick to follow-up and keen to ensure everything was done to our satisfaction.

I retained CSC renovations to assist in the design and then to complete the construction of a finished basement. They were extremely helpful in the design phase as I wasn't sure of how to proceed. There were a lot of instances where they included small design features that showed me they understood what I wanted and were responsive and flexible in their approach to the job. The job included electrical work, cutting the foundation walls, ceiling work, drywall, door framing, doors, new expanded basement windows, and all finishes. All of the work was first class. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

Late last summer my wife and I engaged Jamie Laurin and his company, CSC Renovations, to design and construct a fill-in addition to our two story home. We wanted to better utilize some 80 ft2 of new floor space that would open the lower level and serve to join to separate rooms to provide a more expansive and open entertainment environment. In accordance with good practice, we obtained quotes for what we envisioned from three firms. CSC Renovations was selected for the job for three reasons: the personal confidence Jamie Laurin instilled in us concerning his hands-on ability to undertake the work; the most effective cost/benefit quote we received; the excellent reviews of his work garnered from his previous clients. We were not disappointed. Jamie involved us in every decision of the project and its' scheduling, allowing for maximum flexibility in us changing our minds on plans as the work progressed. True to his word, he is almost overly-fastidious with cleaning up each day and running a project that is the least intrusive to the occupants.

We are thoroughly pleased with every aspect of our new addition - it fulfilled every idea we had envisioned of its impact on the floor plan; despite the small increase in area, the whole was greater than the sum its parts. Moreover, from the exterior, it is not evident that there was an addition made as it blends so well into the house it looks like it has always been part of it. Finished interior, increasing the size of the living room from its previous dimension of 15 x 11 to nearly 23 x 11 with an additional entrance via the sitting room to the left. The room features a semi-vaulted ceiling with skylight.

CSC transformed a concrete basement to a beautiful entertainment area complete with wet bar, washroom, playroom, sitting area, storage area. They also installed lighting, carpeting, hardwood floors. I would and have recommended them to many of my friends.

We had Jamie and his team assist on a range of projects for our newly purchased house that was in need of updating. Always responsive, provided good suggestions and commentary to our requests based on years of experience.

We redid our main bath, had a giant walk in closet built to replace the tiny 1960's closet, added insulation and access panels into our kneewalls, redid the roof, and replaced vinyl with tiles and hardwood. Very clear and upfront on costs, no surprises or negative experiences. Has a good team that is concerned with workmanship, cleanliness and concern for the job site. Have been very pleased with the results and will definitely call when we undertake any new projects.
