This phrase has been bantered around for decades and most people assign the origin of it to project management. So what are contractors talking about when we say 'pick any two?'

My wife and i are Very pleased with our dealings with Datawise. We had been waiting and waiting on an electrician friend to come and do this work.We finally decided we were not going to wait any longer.I searched online and found Datawise trusted and highly rated by their customers.I called left a message and was quickly called back by John.He promised before his work day ended he would come to our house and give us details what needed to be done.As promised John came later that day.I trusted John right away (so did my Jack Russell ha ha) we liked how he explained things in detail.... we fully understood what needed to be done.We felt the price John quoted was very fair and gave him the go ahead with a date work needed to be completed.John promised it would be done by that date.As promised work the was completed as promised and as quoted. :)
We are very pleased with the professional, courteous, neat and fast service we received from Datawise & John.
We Trust and Recommend Datawise Solutions in the highest regard. They keep their promises.
Sincerely,
Nicole and Terry McGill Welland, Ont
Hired John at Datawise to do work on our new home in St Davids. Datawise installed an outside light above garage including cutting hole in brick and removing and replacing drywall in garage, under cabinet valence lighting and upper cabinet in-cabinet lighting in kitchen, dimmer switches, potlight installations, and installing chandeliers and valence lighting in bathrooms as well as solving a transformer problem. At all times John and Matt were punctual, very efficient and quiet, flexible with solutions, and left site spotlessly clean. I highly recommend Datawise and will use them for all future electrical work.
After being frustrated with another electrician who did not return calls and was difficult to get a firm commitment - I searched and found Datawise solutions on this website (Trustedpros).
I was extremely pleased with the whole experience. I was speaking to an electrician (John) within minutes and he was over to the house that afternoon. He gave me an estimate and we agreed to have the job done within a few days!
I found the whole experience stress free and highly professional. I would not hesitate to use their services again, and would recommend Datawise to my friends.
Datawise did a great job at a great price. They were very accommodating with scheduling and made no mess at all in my home. I will be sure to give them a call the next time I need some electrical work done.
Great work Guys, thank you!
John and his people were very knowledgeable and friendly from the start to finish. He offered me a few options, with varying costs and got the job done quickly. Everything works great and looks good too.
Thanks so much!
I had several electrical issues to be taken care and after reading so many positive reviews for DataWise Solutions Inc. I decided to give them a call. Reviews are valuable for home owners needing work done. It can be overwhelming trying to right person for the job. John was very professional, knowledgeable and offered valuable advise when needed. I was very pleased with the work he did. I would certainly recommend DataWise Solutions Inc. to anyone needing electrical work. A job well done.
I am very pleased with the service I received from Datawise Solutions. I am very new to the area and made my selection of Datawise web reviews such as this one. Everything about the service was as I expected or such much better. The technicians were customer focused and professional and both their estimates for time without power and price were very accurate (price within $20). In addition, the paperwork was perfect!
I recently had Datawise install a new electrical panel in my garage. The previous occupants of my house had used the wrong wire and ran it in a method outside that did not meet code. I have to say im really impressed at the job they did. The job only took one day and the guys didnt even leave a mess when they were done. When was the last time an electrician didnt leave all their wire clippings all over for tlyou to clean up? Datawise was professional, courtious, clean and the bill at the end, i found more than reasonable and was the same as was quoted. I like not having any surprise extras on a bill.

This phrase has been bantered around for decades and most people assign the origin of it to project management. So what are contractors talking about when we say 'pick any two?'
Recently I was involved in a conversation with some fellow tradesmen (I was the only Electrical Contractor (EC)) on the topic of "Value". The topic was really about how to explain to a client about the value of work that is not seen not "lipstick and mascara". So to help explain some of the differences in the electrical area I will offer up the following.
There is nothing stopping you and your Electrical Contractor from adding more to the requirements of the code to meet your future needs. While there is a cost to do this, the cost of doing it during the renovation or build is far less than doing it several years down the road where it is possible that you will end up removing some of your new renovation work to facilitate the new requirement.
Just like many other electrical contractors (ECs), I get numerous calls for estimates to upgrade a client's electrical panel or service. For many ECs this is the mainstay of their business and are very good at doing them quickly and with excellent quality. However, don't be fooled just because they have done many of these upgrades. Just like any other type of work, do your due diligence, ask the right questions and do your homework.
I was recently at a client's home and while discussing how to solve a particular electrical problem they were having, I came across a bundle of wires. I originally thought that they were computer network cables and then I took a few minutes to look at the markings on the cables and explain what they meant and what they might be for. As you can imagine the response was, "it's all Greek to me".
I am sure there are not many of us that have not been the brunt of a joke that took us unsuspectingly by using terminology that we were not familiar with. While we went along willingly looking for the left-handed screwdriver , when it comes to electrical work don t let your electrical contractor try to bedazzle you with terms and acronyms that leave you confused or unsure.
I can always tell when home sales are up or insurance policies are due; I get calls for aluminum wire inspections. One of the most important things during my AL wire inspection is educating the potential buyer or the current homeowner on the facts about AL wire and helping them sort out the hyperbole that their house is going to burn down because it has AL wring or some other ridiculous statement.
This is the call of hundreds, if not thousands of fire safety organizations and fire departments around North America, and I believe that most of us think it is true, smoke detectors save lives.
Everywhere in Canada a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) is required in different parts of homes and businesses. A whole article on the building code requirements and interpretations could be written, but today I want to focus strictly on the facts and fictions surrounding GFCIs.
