This phrase has been bantered around for decades and most people assign the origin of it to project management. So what are contractors talking about when we say 'pick any two?'

John and I met to review the job and obtain an estimate. He was professional, thorough and he established a great rapport immediately. An under-appreciated aspect of picking the right contractor is whether you are comfortable with this person in your home and do you trust them to respect your property with the work required. There was no question in my mind and John and his team didn't disappoint. Quality work, professional and respectful team and they completed the work under their estimate.
I will be reaching out to John and Datawise Solutions for all my electrical needs in the future and highly recommend.
I called John for an estimate and evaluation on a outlet at our store that was not working. He came out the next day as promised. He was very courteous and friendly. He gave me an estimate and we went ahead with the repair. He is very reasonable. Would definitely use him in the future.
I am very impressed by the work done by this company for me at my office and my residence in the recent past.
The work was done in a timely manner, with attention to detail and the accounts were quite reasonable.
I will certainly recommend them to persons in need of their services in the future.
I had a great experience with Datawise solutions Inc.
John the owner was very knowledgeable and considerate to my needs as a new home owener in the Niagara region. I bought an older home that has been re-done with no cable run inside. I did not understand why they ran elctrical but no cabl wires in the wall. I was scrambling to get this booked and done for the long weekend of my move in July and have the cable wire in before Cogeco appointment booked for that Sunday.
Matt came and did an amazing job! What a great young man. We came up with a plan for my house and my needs. HE worked really hard to get everything done in a timly fashion and helped me, a young female who had no idea about any of this, get everything set up without any hiccups. The cocgeco company came for my appointment and everything was set up and ready for them! I am SO thankful for Datawise solutions for helping make my transition and move less stressful! A great group of knoweldgeable people who are considerate and professional! Thanks again!
I can also say, this was on a long weekend. Stayed well under a budget i thought I would have to pay for this work.

The crew at Datawise is fantastic. John is extremely easy to contact and always flexible with schedule. Every time I need an electrical repair, I call John without hesitation. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone!
The crew from Datawise Solutions was great. They were very knowledgeable and diligent workers. Not only that they were a pleasure to work with and very professional. We had quite the grocery list of electrical work to get done and in two days they did it all. They were really good for working around our schedule and considerate to run extension cords when they had to leave power off for an evening. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat. Not to mention after the work they came in below the estimate which was the cherry on top.
Outstanding experience! I contacted Database Solutions for an electrician to figure out why a breaker was being repeatedly being tripped and they had someone out to me on the same day. The electrician found the problem and and worked until it was fixed. He was pleasant and professional and kept us informed of everything he was checking and doing. Wonderful experience! Cost was also reasonable so that was a bonus!
I have used Datawise soultions for a few jobs with my apartment building and they have always had someone out when they said they would. Always cleaned up after themselves. We've had some major issues with our camera system before Datawise came in and fixed a lot of the issues the former installers did. I plan on sticking with Datawise for anything electrical that I need.
The guys (Matthew and Chris) were prompt courteous and very efficient. They respected both our property and us (we are in our seventies).
The job turned out very well and we are very happy with the work!
An excellent company to deal with at all levels.

This phrase has been bantered around for decades and most people assign the origin of it to project management. So what are contractors talking about when we say 'pick any two?'
Recently I was involved in a conversation with some fellow tradesmen (I was the only Electrical Contractor (EC)) on the topic of "Value". The topic was really about how to explain to a client about the value of work that is not seen not "lipstick and mascara". So to help explain some of the differences in the electrical area I will offer up the following.
There is nothing stopping you and your Electrical Contractor from adding more to the requirements of the code to meet your future needs. While there is a cost to do this, the cost of doing it during the renovation or build is far less than doing it several years down the road where it is possible that you will end up removing some of your new renovation work to facilitate the new requirement.
Just like many other electrical contractors (ECs), I get numerous calls for estimates to upgrade a client's electrical panel or service. For many ECs this is the mainstay of their business and are very good at doing them quickly and with excellent quality. However, don't be fooled just because they have done many of these upgrades. Just like any other type of work, do your due diligence, ask the right questions and do your homework.
I was recently at a client's home and while discussing how to solve a particular electrical problem they were having, I came across a bundle of wires. I originally thought that they were computer network cables and then I took a few minutes to look at the markings on the cables and explain what they meant and what they might be for. As you can imagine the response was, "it's all Greek to me".
I am sure there are not many of us that have not been the brunt of a joke that took us unsuspectingly by using terminology that we were not familiar with. While we went along willingly looking for the left-handed screwdriver , when it comes to electrical work don t let your electrical contractor try to bedazzle you with terms and acronyms that leave you confused or unsure.
I can always tell when home sales are up or insurance policies are due; I get calls for aluminum wire inspections. One of the most important things during my AL wire inspection is educating the potential buyer or the current homeowner on the facts about AL wire and helping them sort out the hyperbole that their house is going to burn down because it has AL wring or some other ridiculous statement.
This is the call of hundreds, if not thousands of fire safety organizations and fire departments around North America, and I believe that most of us think it is true, smoke detectors save lives.
Everywhere in Canada a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) is required in different parts of homes and businesses. A whole article on the building code requirements and interpretations could be written, but today I want to focus strictly on the facts and fictions surrounding GFCIs.
