These people have not a clue what they are doing, and didn't do a professional or clean job. They did a poor, and very rushed job and added additional charges for services they didn't do. ZERO STARS. Do not and would not recommend , the female Cindi person dressed like a streetwalker and was very pushy and pouty when her terrible people skills and business ethics were questioned. When there were two and three week delays, we complained, the job was supposed to be a week long, maximum. Then they hired sub contractors to come in and they did not want to complete the work and mentioned that Diva Dream Designs had not paid them for some time. Reported them to the Better Business Bureau and the City of Edmonton. Finished the work ourselves. ZERO Stars...
Good day Chad from Edmonton,
Well, I must say I'm surprised to see the name, Chad, as my company has never done business with a client by the name of Chad. If you are one of my previous clients, based on your review, I would say you would have to be the most recent client I had with Diva Dream Designs prior to closing my doors in December of 2013.
If I am correct then you were the client who was verbally abusive to not only myself but my sub-contractors who were also present during your renovation. I would also assume that you are the one client who caused damage to the installed product on a regular basis causing consistent repairs to the original items installed.
If I am assuming correctly, then you are also the client who had requested further work to be completed prior to the original contact being completed and refused to pay for the additional items when billed. If this is the case, then I would have had no choice but to place a lien on your property, in which case, if you had attempted to sell your home prior to clearing up the lien then it would have caused you issues during the selling process of same.
I have never walked off of a project before and I had vowed when I had started my company to always follow through with my contracts. If you are my most recent client then I would have walked off of your project and in which case, you would have attempted to bully me once again by involving legal counsel only to be told that you were in the wrong.
I am a person of integrity, both personally as well as professionally, and I always stand by my word! This situation was definitely not ideal for all involved and I can honestly tell you that, if you are indeed my last client of Diva Dream Designs, then you had a great deal to do with me shutting down my company!
I believe in treating others with respect and dignity. In this day and age, it is very rare to get that same treatment in return!
I will continue to move forward with integrity, regardless of the way others treat me.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Cindy McCullough

We are extremely impressed with Cindy and Dan! They listened to our needs and provided us with the bathroom of our dreams! Dan's workmanship and knowledge is amazing and Cindy's ability to help us visualize the end result allowed us to trust that we were being taken care of throughout the entire renovation process.
We are so happy and we will definitely invite them back for any future renovations!
Thank you so much!
A job that began in March was delayed and scheduling finishes was a nightmare. After MULTIPLE excuses and postponing and then more dramatic excuses as time passed I still have part of my project I have to hire a different contractor to complete. Just getting my key back after realizing they weren't ever coming by again (it's September) took excuses galore and then showed up randomly the week after I had said I needed it for my guests.
Deficiencies in the project itself still have not been corrected. Despite several requests to correct jagged edges of tiles sticking out around my bathtub (due to not having the correct tools to cut glass tile?) I will have to spend the time with a dremel to correct this myself. Edges of the glass tiles in the kitchen are also jagged, unfortunately.
Design itself was a concern from the beginning. Showing up with only one countertop/tile combination as a choice was just silly, and resulted in later having to pull off tile that had been put up and choose again. My hesitation in the choice was not enough deterrent and in the end the design is okay, but since my suggestions and taste were not given much weight I now only think it looks better than before but not great.
Our lighting needed to be done by a certain date so I made sure 3 weeks in advance that she was aware it was a hard deadline. After excuses and postponing repeatedly as with everything else they showed up the day of my event to do the job - exactly what we didn't want to happen. All got done, except that they wanted to install the lighting in my kitchen right over my cooking surface. I would have had drywall in my food (it requires new holes in the ceiling) so even now that lighting hasn't been done despite repeated promises they would come back to finish the work and correct the deficiencies.
In summary the design and scheduling was a nightmare. Dan the contractor himself is a pleasure to work with and I would give him a good review, and an A+ for effort but his work is completely eclipsed by the rest of the experience.
I would not use Diva Dream Design again.
Dear Tracy,
The project began in March. We had completed the master ensuite within the time allotted for the project requirements. The client expressed their satisfaction and thus we began the kitchen. Upon final confirmation (and approval) from the client regarding the countertop (Antique Mascerello - Arborite Faux Granite) and the backsplash tile combination we commenced with the installation. During the installation (half of the backsplash) the client decided she didn`t like it therefore we removed the backsplash tile, researched other choices and presented them to the client. Upon chosing a new tile, we installed it (at no additional charge) due to the change. We kept the jobsite clean and organized at all times and respected the client and their needs.
When the client expressed an interest in updating their lighting, we arranged a private viewing at the lighting supplier with a representative. We picked them up, spent quality time with them and assisted them in their lighting choices. The lighting needed to be ordered and thus we had no choice but to wait for them. Upon arriving at the supplier (the client wanted to wait until the entire order arrived), we had arranged install. The only time available (we had to change around the schedule to accomodate the lighting install) was on the day of the client gathering. Dan and Cindy picked up the entire order and proceeded to install. Keep in mind, the order represented the entire home - every room!! Since the client was preparing food for her gathering (we did not suggest to install the lighting over the island as we were fully aware of the food being prepared), we suggested we should come back another time and in which case the client agreed. To confirm, we had arrived on the Saturday morning of the gathering date at approximately 9:00 am and left the project site at approximately 12:30 pm. The only lighting to be installed was for the island. The work space was fully cleaned up by us and the old product was removed.
To confirm, we had made several attempts to return to the project in order to install the lighting above the island however we had confirmed originally that this would require a licensed electrician. We had found that most, if not all, electricians did not care to do such a "small" job and thus this was relayed to the client. We ended up not charging the client for any of the lighting installation completed by us and suggested that if we could locate an electrician (who accepted the small job) to complete the project we would return to the project, providing appropriate notice to the client.
The client requested the key to their home back and as such, we returned it to them.
We realize that there were delays and situations the client as well as ourselves were faced with and we recognize that the lighting project was incomplete. We will, however, send a licensed electrician to the client home at no charge to them upon confirmation by the client.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we are willing to do our best to make it right. We will contact our client shortly.
Sincerely,
Cindy and Dan

I called in a rush situation as the contractor I originally hired never showed and I needed the job done ASAP. Cindy was very nice, understanding, and got back to me within 15 minutes. Dan came that afternoon and did what he could, came as many times as needed to get the job done. Highly recommend this company as they were on time, quality installation, friendly, professional and took my stress and frustration away ... Definitely will use them again when the time arises.
