Do not trust this individual. Finally finished our basement in December after months of promising. Now we have a lien against our home because of a subcontractor not being paid. We paid in full once work was done but didn't know you should hold back a percentage just in case subcontractors are not paid. He is out of business and we have a lien
Watch out, he'll probably start another business and my advice is to stay away!
I had the estimate done and accepted it.. to have my two bathrooms remodeled. I gave a deposit of $2000.00 and then got an email saying that the owner was not able to start until after Christmas was given start date and now I cannot contact anyone.. Both the cell phone and the business phone and the email do not answer. Has he done this to other people. Is my money gone??? Maybe I need to report this to police or what do I do about it??? Can anyone help me.
I hired this contracter to do a addition on my home he was very good at communication in the begining. I used this site to find a contracter checked references and reviews I have been blind sided he has ruined my property ,didn't get any permits , and didn't do what he was paid to do .he has now claimed bankruptcy and I have no recourse to get my 22,000.00 .I can't believe there are people out there that can take advantage of people with out a second thought .he has ruined my business plan to move my salon into my house I hope this makes the approval process because I need to tell anyone who will listen .run from this man he will rip you off
Beware. This contractor is incompetent and dishonest. I received a quote from DMH Construction and was very pleased at how detailed it was. There were clear descriptions of work tasks and clear costs associated to the tasks. I hired DMH Construction and the nightmare began. The owner was blindsided by Building Code Requirements that the City said were very routine. Work stopped and the quote changed. I reluctantly agreed to the new quote and saw very little work accomplished. The contractor was repeatedly stopped by the City for Building Code violations and the quote repeatedly went up. Eventually work stopped altogether and DMH started avoiding my calls, promising to show up for work and going AWOL. The original quote was to duplex a single family home for $72,000.00. The quotes went up to $125,000.00. It has been a year. I am now left with a gutted house that is not liveable. I have paid this guy $92,000.00. I offered long ago to cut bait and walk away from each other but he refused. Now after he has done only demolition and very little rebuilding, he is offering me $10,000,00 back. When I match the well detailed quote that he provided against the work that has been accomplished, it is obvious that he owes me $65,000.00. This is likely going to court and I don't know if I'll ever see my money again. This has likely ruined my business plan and I will have to sell the house at a considerable loss. STAY AWAY from this guy!

DMH Construction has received complaints from their suppliers and/or creditors
Complaint: This company has now gone bankrupt. Us trades only found this out by letter on 01/08/16. As nice as Dave was and as good as the trades were he never had a DMH employee that was capable of doing the proper work that was asked of them. All the trades are owed lots of pay/back pay from completed jobs.
