I hired Drew Larabie to install drywall and soundproof in my basement. He talks a good game but this was easily the worst work I’ve ever seen and I believe I was overcharged for materials. He left a mess in the backyard that we had to clean. He wouldn’t provide receipts for funds paid. Absolutely do not hire this man, much better and more honest contractors out there.
Horrible experience. Started job and then returned three weeks later to supposedly finish. Left me with leaky sink and driveway full of trash. Had to hire someone else to fix the sink. He had cracked it during the installation. He had the nerve to return and tell me the leak was fixed when it was not. Took a deposit to haul away trash and never returned. Installed wainscoting with nails and it looks terrible. I believe I was taken advantage of as I was a female. Had no idea you are supposed to glue the wainscoting. Do not hire.
I contracted Andrew Larabie to install new 45 yr shingles, new fascia, and eaves trough. He gave us an estimate for the shingles and fascia, and promised to have his sub-contractor install the new eaves trough once the shingles were installed.
The job began August 13, 2019 and was ostensibly completed August 16, 2019.
Following is a list of problems we have had with Mr. Larabie's shoddy workmanship and lack of business ethics.
1) We've had 3 incidents of shingles falling off the roof since the job was supposed to be completed: On August 18, 2019 the first incident occurred, which I took care of myself. On August 19, 2019, a second incident occurred, which Mr. Larabie repaired within 2 days. On august 30, 2019 the third incident occurred. He was informed that day by text, which was our normal mode of communication, and he has never communicated with me since that time.
2) Estimate included installation of new fascia (approx. 96 linear feet). This was not completed and Mr. Larabie now insists it was never a part of the estimate.
3) Chimney flashing was badly damaged and is now a potential source of water leakage.
4) Roofing nails were left exposed and not covered by roofing tar as is normal practice. This is also another potential source of water leakage.
5) We have had to have a secondary roofing inspection completed at our own cost so that we could be fully informed as to the integrity of the roof. The inspection noted the overall 'Poor Workmanship' of the roofing installation.
6) Nobody ever contacted us regarding the eaves trough. I have since had this taken care of.
7) Although not explicitly stated in the estimate, Mr. Larabie verbally promised to install new edge drip. He used a mix of old and new edge drip.
In short, any contract signed by Larabie is worthless, and his word cannot be trusted.
Worst job I've ever seen. I call it the bird box bathroom because it looks like who ever did it put on a blind fold. The whole thing is a gut job. The cut tiles with a wet tile saw on my nice old hardwood flooring. Three days later the tiling on the floor started to crack. The tile job in the shower is lopsided, chipped corners on the tiles. The ground is all runny. Grout allowed to dry on the sides of the brand new tub and brushed aluminum trim against the tile is poorly installed and covers in grout as well.
On-top of all the the plumbing hardware in the shower/bathtub was never anchored down so you can shake the taps, faucet and shower here a minimum of 6 inches from side to side up and down.
Took 4 times longer then agreed upon to finish work and was still not finished I had to fire him because of how poor the quality of work was.
I could go on and on.
I'm out quite a few grand and had a bunch of clean up to do. And as mentioned it's a gut job now and will need to have it be all redone from scratch.
