Good communication to start, bad to follow up especially when it comes to honouring their two year guarantee and warranty for my exterior painting job. Very disappointed with quality of paint used last year. Still waiting for touch ups; now it is too late for 2019. Interior paint job took a few no shows on scheduled paint date and finally the job was done 8 weeks after original date. Last year I highly recommended Envio Painting, this year I would not.
Terrible experience and outcome. Contracted with Enviro Painting in June 2017 to sand and stain our deck. The job was finished Aug 26, 2017. Attached photos show the surface of the deck prior to the work starting, what it looked liked when the job was finished, and then what it looked like nine months later, on May 6th, 2018. We tried to wash off the deck after the snow melted and you can see the stain just peeled off in spots. You can also see a bright spot that was covered by one of our deck furniture containers and then the rest of the deck that was open to the elements. The stain absorbed dirt and the whole deck looked like a mud pit that we couldn’t clean - even the louvres on the top deck.
Stain was also splashed over the iron stair railings and windows and in-laid deck lights were stained over.
The photos posted below show the deterioration of the deck over 18 months. There was much back and forth over the past two years. The owner, Meshal, stated in writing that they would fix the deck in the summer of 2018 and then, in October 2018, stated they would do the work in the spring of 2019.
Work finally started Jun 17th, 2019 but was stopped on Jul 3rd when vendor stated it was costing him too much money to fix the problem which was created by his company. (The deck needs to be sanded down to the wood due to the level of dirt being absorbed into the stain applied by Enviro Painting.) We offered to purchase the stain but he wanted an additional $985 to finish the work. The photo below shows what the deck looked like when he cancelled the job. Wanting to put this behind us, and against legal advice, we offered to pay an additional $500. Meshal refused and stated he wanted $750. At this point we told him we would no longer deal with his company. We now have to pay to have the job completed as there is bare wood as well as parts of the deck still covered in the absorbed dirt as shown in the photos below. We have not been able to use our deck for three summers. The whole experience has been heartbreaking as well as being an unanticipated financial burden.
We hired Enviro Painting last summer to have our carport ceiling painted. We booked an appointment for June 28 between 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. to fix this issue. Alas, no one showed up. We called again and were promised that someone would come on July 5 at 1:00 p.m. Once again, a no show and no contact from the owner or service manager. We called again and had to leave three messages. After leaving the third message, we indicated that we would have to call the Better Business Bureau if we did not hear from someone. Only then did we get a call back. We were promised by the service manager that someone would be at our house on July 6 at 9:00 a.m. As yet again, no one showed up by 9:00 a.m., we contacted the service manager and the owner at 9:30 a.m. The service manager informed us that the employee was soon arriving which he did.
When the employee arrived to redo the painting of the ceiling of our carport, he did not have a ladder. We are wondering how he was expecting to paint a ceiling without a ladder. Needless to say that dealing with this company has been like dealing with the keystone cops. They do not communicate; they do not show up and they leave the client in the dark. We definitely will never use this company again and would not recommend that anyone else hire them. They are totally incompetent and they charge an arm and a leg for their services.
I decided on Enviro Painting after evaluating and reviewing several companies. The job was interior painting of about 2000 sqft, 9 foot ceilings including chair rail and wainscotting trim.
The good:
Overall, the quality of the job is great. I would say 4.5/5. I believe that this is in part to one of the crew who was excellent and went back to cover up the poor trim job done by a less experienced and less caring younger painter with a poor attitude. Despite that, I would say everyone was friendly and courteous, at least to my face.
The bad:
Management, organization and communication were not the best.
After the work started, the cost of the job increased by 40% as something had been "missed" during inspection and another had been "forgotten" to be included even though it was listed on the original estimate.
The house was empty and I had a fixed date for a flooring company to come in. The job manager confused that date and as a result I had to wait another month to re-book the flooring, which moved the kitchen install back, etc. This resulted in not all renovations being complete for the holiday season.
As the floor was being completely redone, that left freedom in terms of care during the work. However, after the floor was in, and the quarter-round was painted and caulked, there was no end to drips, scuff marks and residue about 6 inches out around the entire floor.
The job took much longer to complete as my job was shuffled around other clients' exterior painting jobs that were stalled due to weather. Sometimes nothing would happen for a week.
I overheard the painters complaining and grumbling on several occasions about the size and complexity of the work.
Fixtures were not replaced properly, found in strange places or lost completely. Most wall plates and lighting were done, some door handles were missing and none of the window coverings were put back up.
A couple months later, after the floor was done and the kitchen was being installed, we needed some of the original paint. The main color came in a 5-gallon pail but there was a 1-gallon tin marked. When the wall was painted it wasn't the same color. As well, some keen-eyed guests noticed some spots in the living room that were mismatched. The tin used was from one of the other rooms in the house. It had not been cleaned out properly so the main color got mixed with the color from the other room. Luckily there's still some untouched paint left in the 5-gallon pail! Whatever is in the tin marked as the ceiling paint doesn't resemble anything that was used.
The worst part is I explained all this the owner. This was a couple months after the job had been completed....and paid for! It has been over a month and absolutely NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER. If the subject of the email had been for additional work I'm guessing I would have heard back. I think good customer service in this case would be to respond and offer to come in and repaint the mismatched areas, a very minor concession.
The funny:
While many fixtures were not replaced, the door handle to the main bedroom definitely was. This was evident by the fact that the locking side was replaced on the outside. This was discovered by visiting family who of course took the opportunity to lock me in my room!
Conclusion:
If you have a small to medium job that is basic wall/ceiling without a lot of trim I would highly recommend Enviro Painting as the quality is good.
If your job is larger, more complex, involves a lot of fixtures you might want to consider a larger company or take care to micromanage the crew for details and the manager for scheduling.
I also recommend that you get an inspection done and a firm quote before starting to avoid the scope and the cost of the job suddenly increasing.
Hiring a painter can be stressful. We needed our front veranda repainted in the wake of a windstorm this summer and solicited bids from a number of outfits including Enviro Painting (that had been recommended to us by a friend). Their estimate was neither the highest or the lowest, but it arrived promptly and described the work and material they proposed clearly and succinctly as opposed to some other bids which trickled in over the next few weeks and which were presented in a far less professional manner.
We subsequently engaged them to do the work – the first day they sent one man out to pressure wash the areas to be painted, and on the second and third days they sent a two-man crew to prepare the surfaces (scraping, sanding, filling and caulking) and to apply a couple of coats of top-grade paint. This was a fairly big job and a fiddly one – the veranda extends across the full width of our house and wraps around a large turret at the far end (roughly 90 linear feet, and 5 feet wide) and the work included preparing and re-painting, the floor, the railing (with balusters spaced 4” apart) and the posts supporting the overhanging roof.
It was extremely hot and humid and the days they were here, but the crew arrived on time and worked steadily through the day. They were quiet (no swearing or loud music) and professional (self-checking their work and redoing it until they were satisfied). They cleaned up the work site at the end of everyday so there was no muss or fuss. When they were done late on the afternoon of the third day they asked me to come out and inspect their work to make sure I was completely satisfied – and I was. The job was flawless – not a stray brushstroke, smudge or splash anywhere.
In short we were completely satisfied with the job they did and would not hesitate to either hire them again or to recommend them to either friends or strangers.

Enviro painted a whiteboard wall in our office, and the quality turned out to be amazing! Our team absolutely loves being able to write on the wall, and it covers a huge space! Enviro Painting was excellent to work with, great communication and follow up!
Quick, efficient, and very good quality service. The whole experience was painless. The only work I had to do was move all the furniture in the centre of the room and even the stuff I forgot, they moved and did not complain about it. The painting was very well done and done within 1 or 2 days (We had our entire home done minus the bedrooms and washrooms). I have an open living room with 17 feet ceilings and they had no issues getting it done. The whole process probably took no more than 1 week, from the time I selected my colours to the time of the final inspection with the project lead and the touch-ups. We are very happy with the final product.
We found the entire Enviro Painting team to be very professional, efficient, polite, and organized. The painting results look splendid, and the price was very competitive. The job was completed ahead of schedule.
We are so glad to find a company that the people are honest and reliable! Amazing professionals, respectful and knowledgeable.
Even they do match price! The work is perfect! Strongly recommend them!
