Update On Sept. 18:
4 weeks later: a technician was scheduled to come on Saturday. They called at 6 AM saying they had a family emergency and were supposed to come today between 8 AM and 10 AM. When it was clear they were not coming, we called several times and got the machine after 5-10 minutes. On the 7th try, someone picked up and said the part was still not here. Why did they schedule a technician twice if the part is not here? We have heard: "the part is here" "the part is not here" about 3 times so far. They keep $150 if we cancel, but we are cancelling because they are just striging us along. They wanted us to call the manager at noon... We have spent more time trying to call them an talk to them that they have spent helping us.
Review: very fast to come for first visit because they take half the total cost of the repair. 3 weeks ago, they said the part would be here on Sept. 8. today, on sept. 12 we called and they said we are 60th in line to get the part. now they don't know when the part will be here and once they have the part how long it will take a technician to come fix it. We have been handwashing all of our clothes for 3 weeks. they are very quick to take half the costs of the repair (250 total 500). we should have bought a new washing machine...also, the person on the phone was rude and unhelpful.
Update: i called the # given, was put on hold and hung up. They called me back but still do not know when part will be here. Person on the phone was polite at least. Should we just buy a new washing mach? ????? if we do we lose $150... ?? they keep more than half of the money we give them at the start.
I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for potential clients to steer clear of Express Appliance Repair. My recent encounter with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my experience to protect others from the same ordeal.
I scheduled a fridge repair service with Express Appliance Repair, expecting a professional and reliable service. However, my hopes were utterly shattered as soon as they missed their scheduled time slot without a single phone call to inform of any changes to the scheduled time window. I had to rearrange my evening, and still, they didn't show up during the promised time frame. This blatant disregard for their customers' time is absolutely inexcusable.
But the worst was yet to come. I expressed my concerns and called them in efforts to determine what happened. They proceeded to tell me that the technical did indeed show up but not within the scheduled time. They asked if I would like to rebook, however if I did rebook as I had to pay an upfront deposit. Which I expressed was concerning given my experience thus far with their business. I elected to go a different route. The Express Appliance service was never completed.
The most disgusting part and to make matters worse, less than a month later a phantom invoice was sent to a collection agency without any prior notice or explanation. The communications from this collection agency was about an unpaid bill for a random amount when no service was completed, no physical invoice, no email of invoice and no one ever called to say I owed them anything.
This is not just bad customer service; it's fraudulent behavior. It is completely unacceptable to send an unpaid invoice to a collection agency without any effort to communicate or resolve the issue with the customer first.
I am appalled by the lack of professionalism, communication, and integrity displayed by Express Appliance Repair. Their actions have caused me unnecessary stress, wasted time, and now I have to deal with a collection agency because of their incompetence and deceitful practices.
My advice to anyone considering their services: RUN, don't walk, away from Express Appliance Repair. Save yourself from the headache, frustration, and potential financial troubles that dealing with this company might bring. There are plenty of reputable and honest appliance repair companies out there, and Express Appliance Repair is definitely not one of them. Don't let yourself fall victim to their terrible service and unethical practices.

I repeat, stay away from this “repair company” and seek another professional and ethical one.
I have been experiencing Dryer Vent issues and after self-diagnosing the problem, I reached out to a (what I thought was) professional company for aid. I regret calling Express Appliance Repair.
While booking the service call, I confirmed with the sales rep (3 different times) that their Service Technician would call me 30 mins prior to arrival on my property as it was my rental property and I don’t live there. She ensured me that he would. On the day of the service between 3-5PM, I waited just 5 minutes away from the destination so I could arrive on time to meet and explain the problem in person to the technician and approve any further work (if required).
I waited in my car for 1.5 hrs and while coincidently checking my phone, received an invoice of $230 in my mail. The invoice was not clear. I assume the breakdown of the invoice is $99 for initial assessment and $116 for any further work – which was not approved by the way.
To clarify, I called the company back within minutes of receiving the invoice to understand what repair was even conducted as I had already done majority of the technical repair myself. I also reminded that that this was the reason why the Technician was supposed to call me prior to arrival on my property. The sales rep said that the Technician would call me back to explain what he did within 30 mins…He never called me back.
The following day, Express Appliance Repair called me demanding payment of the invoice. I explained that the invoice in invalid and incorrect. The technician never called me prior to arrival on my property (as I had been promised by the company), so by me physically not being present, I never authorized any work to be conducted, the technician took it upon himself to conduct the business on my property therefore, this contract was breached. After hearing this, I was told a “Manager” would call me back. This conversation happened on August 11th 2023 and I have yet to hear from a Manager. Today’s date is September 7th 2023.
Over the few weeks that have passed, this company has sent me (the same) numerous invoices without calling me back to discuss the issue. I have an active Voicemail on the number provided to them so they can leave a call back number incase I miss their call.
As a responsible client, I have tried several times to reach out to them to resolve the problem. I keep getting empty promises that a manager named “Michelle” will call me back… no one has called me.
It appears they are purposely avoiding calling me back.
They have also now added another surcharge of $99 to my invoice as “Collection Agency Fee” making a total invoice of almost $340!
I am bewildered at this incredibly unprofessional customer service and would never recommend this “company” to friends or family. They have lost me as a customer.
Just say no! I wish I could give negative stars. I took my Kitchenaid mixer into the Steeles location on Jan 4 for new grease. It has hardly been used - about 20 batches of cookies it it's life. (I know, why not just get a new one?? My mom gave this to me and she recently passed away so I just can't part with it). So this company claims that they do same day mixer repairs. Ha! After about 3 days of not hearing from them we called. And called. And called. Finally we spoke to someone who said that it needed a new motor, which is rediculous given it's frequency of use (and the Kitchenaid website specifically says that the grease can start to break down and leak out due to lack of use), so we asked if we could just pick it up, and we were told "well let me talk to the technician again to confirm and we will get back to you on Monday". Well, we were eventually told (after they didn't call and we had to call multiple times again) that they do their diagnostics without opening the mixer up because it is a lot of work - I watched a YouTube video - it is not a lot of work. Anyway Jan 18th rolls around and it is finally ready! I live an hour and 45 minutes away, and they aren't open past 5pm or on weekends, so my sister picked it up after work Jan 20, only for me to take one look at it and realize it has a big gash on the side and a bunch of scratches (on my formerly pristine prized possession). I called the main number because the Steeles location is the most unprofessional location I could ever imagine, only to be told that I have to call that location as the main number has nothing to do with mixer repairs. So we call. Don't they hang up on us as soon as we express our displeasure with their service. I was charged for a service and my mixer literally came back in worse disrepair than it was before it was "fixed". I am at a loss. I have treated this machine like the Queen (King), only to have a repair service do this to it. I have never experienced worse service anywhere in my life. The lack of care put into repairing my mixer is unacceptable, especially when I specifically told them that it was very important to me when I dropped it off. Quite frankly, if you can't change the grease in a mixer without bashing it up in the process, you shouldn't be repairing them.
We have tried calling over the last week at least 20 times between 9 am and 4 pm and they never answer the phone!
This company is exceedingly unprofessional - "same day repair" - not even close. If you love your mixer enough to fix it instead of buying a new one, run. Run really fast. Take it literally anywhere else.

On July 26th, I called requesting a tech to come to see and fix my fridge.
The tech arrived on time and supposedly told me that all I needed was a repair kit to fix the fridge and to wait for 24 hours for the refrigerator to reset to average temperatures.
And advised me in the future that if this happens again;
I would need to replace a compressor assembly; notice that he assured me it was fixed before charging me $369.51 for the repair kit.
I waited 24 hours, and still, the refrigerator was not working; I called the company to complain that my fridge was not fixed, and they told me that the tech told me the chance of fixing it was very small; therefore, I have to order the assembly. That is $1290.
Why would I pay for a part knowing it did not fix the problem makes no sense to me; I requested to speak to a manager, and they told me someone would call me Tuesday.
Today is Thursday, so they provide a non-existent service; they never fixed my fridge; I challenged them to put the tech online, and they still refused.
And they expect my family to stay without a fridge for the whole weekend, clearly a scammer move.
They can come to pick up the repair kit they installed that never fixed my fridge and be aware I will file a formal complaint with consumer Protection Ontario about this company.
Just to let everyone know never use express appliance repair bunch of rip off. They come to your home fix you machine and charge you x amount of money and the problem never fix. When you call to complain about the issue they would promise you a refund. You would never get that refund back all they keep telling you lies and promising you. Costomer service very poor. Manager lies too much would not recommend this company to anyone I am speaking from experience.
