A similar story here.... started out ok, but quickly turned for the worse. Subcontractors arrived with different products than selected. Chris Miller had given them wrong information.
At the end of it all I now have a leaking roof, $30,000 of paid-for yet unfinished work.
Ended up having to hire contractors myself, and essentially pay for everything again. Even the subcontractors hired by Fusion / Chris Miller got screwed out of thousands of dollars as well.
Stay far away from this one, owners and subcontractors alike.
We hired Chris Miller of Fusion Renovation to completely renovate two bathrooms on the main floor of our house. We signed a contract and for the first few months the bathrooms progressed according to schedule. The job started in April and was to be completed by the end of May. In May we had to wait for the custom cabinets to be installed by a subcontractor and after that Fusion was to come in and complete both bathrooms. The cabinets were installed as planned but the renovation then took a turn for the worse after that. Granted, Chris Miller was having difficulty with his manpower - but he strung us along for 2 months with phone calls and text messages and with only 80% of each bathroom complete. He made promises to finish the job well into August 2015 but never did come to our house to finish the work, and he eventually just stopped answering his phone and texts. We had to hire a person to fix the tile work that Fusion did, then a drywaller, a plumber, an electrician and a painter. We finished the work on the kindness of other contractors that took pity on us and our non-functioning bathrooms. We paid Chris Miller far more money than the job was completed and upon closer inspection on the work completed - it was second rate quality and not par to the money we paid for this renovation. Recently, we also found out that he did not pay the cabinet company for the custom cabinets that were installed, which were worth over $10,000. We signed a contract with Chris Miller, but it wasn't worth the paper it was signed on. He does not have any honesty or integrity and I would never hire him in any capacity. I believe he has shut down Fusion Renovations in Red Deer, but I would warn you against hiring him for anything.
I agree with the previous review. Worst of the worst scumbags. I wish I had words to describe these !@#$%^. I have pictures and videos to prove how bad these guys are. Giving their industry definitely a bad name, like anyone who has skill saw on his hand can be a contractor.
Scammers!
We hired this company in late October after purchasing our first condo. The owner Chris seemed quite knowledgeable and courteous at the time. However, things started going sour in final stages. The company seemed preoccupied with another job and the timing of our contract seemed to be extending. As well, we started noticing poor workmanship from his main contractor Lonny. We had some issues with messes outside of the condo itself where the strata complained about stains on the carpet, There was also a lot of garbage left from the crew often during a workday-not related to the project itself. We continuously had to inform Lonny of certain areas that were not up to the standard we thought we would be getting such as poorly laid out flooring, gaps in the floor board and broken pieces in the tile.
The work did finally come to a close with the exception of a few minor details. Paper work wasn't delivered such as warranties for our counter tops. More importantly, Chris promised us in writing that the minor details would be finished. Because it was just small items, we paid him the final installment (our mistake). It ended up where he had been planning on creating another business out in Red Deer-we were under the impression it was just an expansion. Chris was actually closing the business here in Coquitlam to move out there. We stayed in contact trying to get the rest of the job finished. He kept giving us lies about the parts being on back order and that paper work would eventually be delivered. However, by the end of the actual contract (we still have in writing), he stop responding to us.
Please don't be fooled by this organization. If they can treat us this way, they may do the same with you.
