Rude Technician insulted elderly lady when she asked to understand about the type of work that was needing to be done on her property. Walked off the job without doing anything after insulting the owner. Do NOT engage with GasTech; there are many other competent and courteous technicians in Calgary.
Thank you for your response. Unfortunately it is clear that you did not bother to verify the information so here are the facts:
Here are the facts which, unfortunately you have to admit, neither yourself or anyone in your organization bothered to verify:
1. The elderly lady was not rude at all and actually apologized to your technician for only being a visitor and passed him her cell phone so I, the owner of the house, could ask a few questions to understand what needed to be done. I don't think it is an extraodinary request to ask a service provider about paid work being completed on my private property.
2. I asked for some information while he was on the property from himself as an expert since I was not at home at the time and he refused to say anything but "Talk to someone else" to which there are witnesses, something else you can not be bothered with
3. He walked off the job without any indication that he would do so and you are herein saying you advised him to do so; this is a lie since he had already walked off the job BEFORE contacting you and BEFORE you could advise him to leave the yard - he had already left.
Your dishonest response including the fact that you did not bother to confirm what had actually happened is a testimony to your lack of any type of professionalism.
It is surprising that a service provider in an industry currently in a market downturn which relies heavily on word of mouth would demonstrate such lack of concern for their reputation.
Sincerely,
Sarah
We were contacted by Robert to check a rusty bbq line as he was new to the home and wanted it checked over as well as ready for a bbq. We spoke with Robert prior to going to the home and were advised that if we did not need entry to the home and were not noisy that we could go into the backyard and perform our work. Upon arrival in a Company Van, Gasfitter was checking the BBQ connection when a lady very rudely came out with a phone in her hand and gave it to the gasfitter who was then spoken to rudely on the phone and accused of being there too early and needed to explain what he was doing and why he was there. He then advised that the office had confirmed entry for this time to the backyard to perform work on the gasline. He was told that was not good enough and felt the conversation was no longer a productive call and advised he would be leaving the yard. Gasfitter then contacted office and we advised him he was to leave the job site and that no further work would be done. We are sorry to hear that it seems as though there was miscommunication within your household as to what we were contracted to do and the fact we were authorized to be on site in the backyard. We are a professional company that communicates with our clients and books appointments to perform contracted work and have been doing so successfully for 18yrs.
We have three gas fireplaces in our home that is 23 years old. They cleaned and suggested an 'updating' profile for each one. I received a very good discount for the 3 units. The serviceman was very tidy.
