Unless otherwise specified, Gilded Contractors LTD. will provide clients with painted melamine shelving supported by 1"x3" painted wood cleats on 3 sides of the shelving and typically includes a closet rod unless the closet is a pantry/linen closet in which 1' spacing between shelves will be done.

Gilded Contractors LTD. follows all OBC (Ontario Building Code) regulations for all carpentry and framing tasks. Keep in mind, the OBC is the minimum, we strive to do better than the minimum requirements and will advice you as to what options will be best when framing and performing carpentry work.

Gilded Contractors LTD. can perform all work regarding ceilings including but not limited to, decorative plastering, stipple installation, stipple removal, and skimming. We also prime and paint all ceilings with a high-quality primer and paint with the client's choice of colour with flat paint.

Gilded Contractors LTD. uses BCIN certified drafting technicians and engineers on plans requiring architectural and structural specifications. These plans follow Part 9, and part 4 (Ontario Building Code) guidelines and are typically approved by the city of Ottawa before construction starts.

All millwork and cabinetry outside corners are glued, inside corners copped, no gaps larger than 1/16”, baseboard ends turn down at an end, if millwork hits plumbing line or plug it is to be turned down and around the fixture. No shoe moulding is standard unless the client specifies.

Gilded Contractors LTD. works with industry-leading suppliers for carpet supply and installation. We typically do not do carpeting with in-house employees due to material and warranty reasons. The supplier of said carpet selection will also be the installer to ensure proper liability on the work.

Gilded Contractors LTD. uses BCIN certified drafting technicians on plans requiring accessibility/barrier fee specifications. These plans follow Part 9, and part 3 OBC (Ontario Building Code) guidelines and are typically approved by the city of Ottawa before construction starts.

All concrete work is subcontracted to licensed and insured concrete professionals for foundations, loading bearing footings, and porches/steps. When basement slabs are cut for basement plumbing installation this concrete replacement will be done in-house with Gilded employees.

All decks are designed and built in accordance with OBC(Ontario Build Code). Decking surfaces are typically installed with "hidden screw" systems to facilitate a smooth walking surface. Railings on decks are typically century aluminum railings else otherwise specified.

All stone, quartz, and synthetic hard surface material counters are subcontracted to industry-leading suppliers to supply and install the counters. Depending on the complexity of melamine or pre-fab vanity counters, this will be done with in-house Gilded employees.

Gilded Contractors LTD. uses in-house employees to demolish and build basement renovations. If plumbing, electrical, HVAC, engineering, and/or spray foam insulation is required, these scopes are subcontracted to licensed and insured professionals.
