Gabriel is very friendly and provides detailed explanations on the work that needs to be completed. He is also prompt and responsive with correspondence. I only needed the carpet removed and laminate installed in 1 room of my apartment, which is a very small job, but he was able to fit me into his schedule quite quickly. The laminate installed looks great and everything was cleaned up after the job. I would definitely recommend Gabriel to anyone looking for a flooring contractor.

Owner of GL Installations Inc., Gabriel, installed new 3/4" subfloor and luxury vinyl plank in our home. With new subfloor the entire job was completed with only one transition strip where the existing kitchen floor met the new vinyl plank. He is knowledgeable and thorough on proper installation and does not consider the job complete until he has satisfied himself and that the owner is completely pleased with the install. Gabriel was a pleasure to deal with. He has fabulous work ethic and I highly recommend him and will certainly have him back to do other work for me. I am so incredibly pleased with my floors! I chose a Brushed Acacia finish which has a lot of tone contrast and grain variability. It also requires specific staggering to avoid patterns and to create a sense of flow. All of these points were taken into account upon installation and I have a beautifully laid out hard wood floor.

I would also like to mention that Gabriel was brought on to my account by a third party after two failed installation attempts by different contractors. He eased my frustrations and was so incredibly patient and kind, I recommend him to anyone.

Gabriel and his team are super productive and skilled. Our laminate project was heading in the wrong direction and we called GL Installations to resolve our problems. Yes, we thought we could save money on levelling but you need to know not to take short cuts on your floor installations and choose a professional, particularly GL Installations, to do the job correctly.

GL Installations did great work on our house. We did some of the prep but Gabriel and his team did the rest of the sub-floor prep, including a ton of levelling in our kitchen. Each day the guys were on time, prepared and working hard, I saw them for at least 3 of the days as I was home for a few days that they were working. I liked the way they treated each other and our home during our brief intereactions, they had a plan each day and they finished our baseboards and other trim pieces in a timely manner.

I used Gabriel and his team for a renovation project prior to moving into my new apartment in Coal Harbour. The place had been trashed by a bad tenant and was in a horrid state. I needed the old carpet removed and disposed of, fitting new laminate and soundproof underlay, tilling in the kitchen bathroom and den, and painting the entire apartment including the bubble ceiling and gloss on doors and trim.

All this was done in less than 2 weeks right before Christmas and in a high rise where being quite, tidy and polite is essential to start off on the right foot with the neighbors and building manager, which they did. They even were great with my big dog being there and looked after him during the remo, well above and beyond the job.

I got supplier recommendations for both products from GL Instillations and got great deals on both. I did my homework on comparable's and their suppliers were by far the best quality and price. Gabriel also recommended products to get rid of the cat smell that was overpowering and that worked and no more cat smell.

GL Instillations completed the job on time on budget (which was not big), and did a fantastic job. I have recommend them to many of my friends and business associates.

Gabriel installed 500 ft of baseboards in our home. He only charged us the contractor's cost for the boards. He worked around our schedule, was on time, got the job done quickly, and cleaned up thoroughly. He even replaced some of our damaged laminate at no cost. The baseboards look fantastic. I would highly recommend GL Installations for any home renos.

While purchasing our hardwood floor, we got verbal recommendation for "GL Installations" from the lady in the Richmond store where we were shopping for material. She said these guys were very fast. Since we had only 7 days to finish the reno (painting and flooring) before moving in, we hired GL Installations for the job, after they firmly promised to be done on time, and gave us their rates and cost estimate

That's were the nightmare begins.

Monday, the owner brought his (in my opinion very young crew) for the carpet removal around 1PM. They phoned back at 5PM, so I can come and pick the keys to the condo. I've noticed that they didn't finish removing of the baseboards completely, and some of the garbage and large old carpet pieces were still laying around, but I assumed it'll be done the next day.

However, later that day my wife had a phone conversation with the owner. He told her, that he changed his mind, that the job won't be done by Friday because he was going camping on Thursday. He told us that one of the youngsters was his brother, and he didn't want to pressure him with the timelines. He also added that some leveling needs to be done, and that would cost us additional $2,800. I would like to mention that during this conversation a rude tone in the owner voice was sensed. My wife and I consulted after that phone conversation, and we felt that we were given false promise, that this was not acceptable behavior on the owner side and decided not to proceed with GL Installations. We also had a feeling that his price for leveling was not realistic.

The very next day the owner phoned to come and pick his tools, and when we met, he gave me the invoice for the carpet removal. Almost $800. On his, obviously pumped bill he had items like: "portions of the carpet were glued and hard to remove - additional $100". When I complained about it, he threatened that he will charge me for being late to open condo for him to pick up his stuff. I forgot the keys and had to come back, so I was late about 30 minutes indeed. I am writing this in hope that other people won't go through the same experience..
