There is nothing we can say about this company but "Wow"!
Following two wind storms we couldn't find anyone who was interested in replacing the downed fences, that is until we found Paul Hutchinson at GNFP. He came as promised, checked and measured the job, sent the quote overnight. The quote was complete laying out exactly what work would be done and the cost, broken down so that ourselves and ur neighbours each knew exactly how much we had to pay.
The crew arrived on the agreed date, set the posts on the first day and returned the second day and finished the job. The work is a high quality, the crew were friendly and worked steadily. The crew chief, Brent, kept everything moving along as well as keeping us up-to-date with their progress. Both neighbours and ourselves are delighted with the final result.
My concrete post supports were done quickly and in very tight spaces, working around electrical and gas services. Crew showed up as expected, worked fast and got everything done for a very fair price.
WARNING, WARNING, DANGER! I can’t believe what I just went through. Ontario One tells you on their website and over the phone to not place a call to check for underground utilities but to ask for the contractor to place the request because you are liable. That meant if I placed the call to Ontario One and Good Neighbor Fence & Post blows up the house next door I am responsible. Foolish me, I followed government recommendation and asked Good Neighbor Fence & Post to call Ontario One. That was when things changed. The usual cheerful and helpful Paul changed he said he only calls Ontario One on Fridays, he would have to reschedule and could not give me a date.
After much delay with no fences and wood stocked up in my driveway, Good Neighbor Fence & Post showed up to dig. That was when I really felt the pay back for making Good Neighbor Fence & Post call Ontario One. Here is what happen…
• They refused to drill three holes because it was too close to the gas line they said they had a policy of 2 ft. I measure it and it was 23 inches, plus there were existing post holes between where I wanted the new one. Three holes not dug.
• They said they had to drill one by hand because it was too close to the gas line, again in line with an existing post and greater than 2 ft. That Cost $50.
• They drilled only 3 ft. down, their website says 4 feet. (I measured)
• One hole was close to a tree and the equipment could not get through a root, so that hole is only 2 ft. down.
• Thank goodness the children were at school for all the bad language being used. Frankly I was shocked at the language.
An outsider may think this punished for following the governments recommendation displays terrible customer service Good Neighbor Fence & Post.
I am firm believer in online reviews and prior to selecting Good Neighbor Fence & Post I did my research finding good reviews.
One would wonder who wrote those reviews??
Because I believe in providing honest reviews, DO NOT USE Good Neighbor Fence & Post you will regret it.
We have a company policy of not digging with in 2 feet of any marked utilities. This customer said they measured at 23 inches. 2 feet is 24 inches. We take safety of our guys and customers very seriously. The client was told of this.
We can not dig past a mountain top. Unfortunately in Hamilton there is a point you can't get deeper. It is a mountain.
The locates were to be called in on the request of the home owner. They then decide it would be faster to do it then selves. Yes we collect all our locates to be done at weeks end and call them in. Maybe not the best for timing the jobs, but it saves us making 20 phone called.
As far as reviews go. If you real read it, the customer is complaining about my guys going the extra mile to be safe.
If this customer had of called me to discuss the problems I would of addrsssed them in an instant. They did not give me the option.
Again 2 feet is 24 inches. A mountain is a mountain. As far as my guys swearing it happens. However it will be addressed by me.

I phoned a few fencing companies to get an estimate to repair the fence between my back yard and my neighbour's yard.
My neighbour has not agreed to any of the quotes I've obtained, but I was impressed by what Paul from Good Neighbor had to say, so I asked him to replace my own rotted fence posts and build a new gate for the other part of my back yard.
It hadn't even occurred to me that the fence could be repaired so early in the year, but luckily this February was warmer than usual, and even though there was snow on the ground, Paul assured me that the work could be done right away.
Brent and the crew arrived mid-morning and were finished after a few hours. I'm glad to know that my fence is secure now -- the new posts look solid -- and I'm thrilled with my new gate. I wasn't able to choose a gate design, so I left it to Paul and Brent and I'm glad I did, because it looks great.
I'm happy with my new gate and have already recommended Good Neighbor to a couple of people.
