Chris, In response to your comments dated Dec. 7th, 2018 regarding your contract for a New Basement entrance.

We could not start your project until October since the permit you supplied to us was not ready until the first week of October.

The original stairs were poured with concrete that had been compromised which was explained to you. Gregor workers removed the original stairs and re-poured them. Unfortunately these stairs had some irregularities in the concrete which is not uncommon. We had our concrete finisher contact you to explain and offer a topping agent which is commonly used.

We can provide you with letters of opinion from our concrete supplier and our concrete finisher who both have extensive experience in this matter. Gregor suggested you visit the Barrie Courthouse on Mulcaster St. to see for yourself a set of stairs that we topped and after several years has not been compromised in any way. To add, the structure of the stairs has not been compromised at all.

Also we were offering our guarantee that they would stand up over time and if there were any problems we would certainly return to make any necessary repairs.

The rough opening was correct. The door issue is the result of your choice of a poor quality door. Gregor gave you a cash allowance of $1130.00 with tax to purchase a good quality door and explained in detail the importance of installing one. (ie Sash length, gaskets etc.) Gregor gave you a credit of $396.63 for the purchase of the door you insisted to be installed. Our staff did the best they could with what they had to work with.

As for the dust, on page 2 of our contract it clearly states the following: Personal Items: The customer is to remove all personal belongings, from the areas where work is to take place, prior to the arrival of trades. Gregor Homes will not be responsible for moving home owner s belongings. Gregor Homes will not be responsible for home owner belongings that may get damaged due to failure to comply with this clause.

Our workers did not use the water attachment for the concrete saw when we were cutting a hole in your foundation because our workers did not want to create anymore unnecessary mud due to the fact that the site conditions were already completely saturated when the hole was dug.

You have continuously declined our efforts to correct the stairs.

On October 15th 2018, Your last words in a text to the project manager were You and Gregor Homes are off the project and are not permitted on my property anymore .

We are disappointed that you have chosen to write this review on this site, when there has been a lot of effort put in to resolve the matter.
