We had our entire house painted by Heritage Painters (other than the basement). Although the quality of the work was decent, the scheduling did not go as planned. One day before the completion of the project, we were asked for full payment. We asked that the work be completed before we gave payment and it was (other than some areas that were missed). These areas were completed, and we were told at this time that they would be back to paint the front door and frame. When Brian came out to do the estimate, he said that he would throw in the painting of the front door as it would not take much time at all (and considering the money that we had spent). It was even wrote on Brian’s copy to “paint the front door”. Brian came back the following week to talk about the colour for the door and said he would just come back and do it himself.
About 2 weeks after we were told they would be back to do that, My calls and messages were ignored. When I called from a different number my call was answered. Brian said that they had done $755 of extra work and painted one room that was in the estimate as a “fresh coat of paint”, it was no cost to them as the colour was the same as the rest of the house.
If you choose to use Heritage, be sure that ALL work is completed before payment is made. The sad part about this is that we actually were fairly happy with the job, fed all the workers each day and had recommended Heritage Painters to 2 families that are having their house painted soon. We will sadly take those recommendations back, not just because of the front door not being completed, but because of Brian’s attitude during our phone call. He was actually quite rude, and stated himself that “next time we can call another company” and hung up on me.
I have never been treated so disrespectfully by someone I hired in my entire life. The office receptionist actually hung the phone up on me after I paid for the work because I questioned a 3% upcharge for using my credit card. She said I should have seen it in the estimate and didn't remind me until after she had processed the payment. I will never recommend this company to anyone I know. I was so angry I called the office back and called her names. I have never done this in my life! SAD when someone's actions causes you to take the low road.
They were also suppose to do our windows. We also bought this service from Groupon
I made an appointment for Monday Nov 13 2017 for 10am. They called at about noon and said weather was to bad so they asked if they could do it the next day at noon. Well after saying home another day they never showed up. So I called the next day no one answered
left a message with my phone number they did not call. So I waited 5 to 6 days called again still no answer and no one called back. So I asked them for a quote for painting my front door and garage door wont have them do it either. Very poor customer relations I would not recommend to do any service at all very in professional. they never showed up to do the job on the day they said they would return so I don't know what they are taking about I even called them twice and got no response from them at all I've been sitting at home all day waiting and got no response.
This is not a customer of Heritage Painters & Services. This individual did purchase a Groupon for our services however did not allow the team to return for the rescheduled appointment. Rescheduling was due to weather (which we cannot control) and is explained to each customer that this may happen. We would be happy to complete the Groupon service and Estimate if this customer has changed his mind and would like these services now completed.
It Looks like this company is a scam or atleast the person picking up when you call is the most unprofessional employee. I bought a groupon coupon for Gutter cleaning services. I called in to book an appointment and the lady answering this call was rude to begin with. When I asked further questions about the services and additional charges which she said I would have to pay, she sighed and then rather than answer my questions bluntly said, I would not pay and she didnot want to do business with me and slammed the phone. After I tried to call again before answering the phone she slammed the phone down again. I then checked and found that she switched my groupon coupon to redeemed when we didnt even fix an appointment for the services. I spent 30 extra minutes contacting Groupon and getting a refund and promised myself never to do business with this company. Not worth your time and money. C grade company.
After receiving the contractors comments, I would like to add that the only person rude in the conversation was the contractor. I was just asking details of the work to be done and genuinely said that I could not locate the section about extra charges/additional taxes on the amount already paid. I was also fine with the fine print of 100 feet of work as I could see that in the fine print. At no point in the conversation did I ever refuse to pay but she said bluntly that "You will not pay" I did not cut the conversation but was about to book the appointment before abruptly she slammed the phone down. The second time I called the phone was picked up and slammed before any word could be spoken. Which company acts in such an inappropriate manner or unprofessional manner unless they have no interest in doing business.
It is unfortunate that this individual chooses to go this route instead of accepting responsibility for his own actions. This individual purchased a coupon (Groupon) for our Gutter Cleaning Services. When reviewing the terms of his purchase (outlined clearly on his Groupon coupon) he became exceedingly rude. The terms on the coupon were read back to him (and told where to find it on his copy) which are: good for only the 1st 100 Linear Feet and the tax amount (HST) would be due upon completion. He stated he would not pay anymore and that those terms do are not on his copy. We cannot book services for individuals who do not agree to the terms on the purchase so we asked him to contact Groupon for a refund which he has already received.
