Person who was operating as HiPro Railing is now operating as ProTech Railing. The current address is 2765 176 St. Surrey. Phone 604 771 7400. He uses a craig's list email acct. to avoid creditors. He is an habitual criminal who uses false advertising & references to defraud property owners out of their money. He uses many names--Saeed, Sam, Farshad, Afsharkia, Afshar, Kia. Now using his wife's name Sohail & her cell phone. Her name is Sohailia Amandol. His son is Shawn Afsharkia (email is ShawnAfsharkia@gmail.com). He has numerous victims & these 2 appear to cover for him. He defrauded me of $6,000.00 that I foolishly gave him for new parts. He not only inflated the price by three times, he never supplied the parts. Refuses to return my money. I am a widow, senior citizen, pensioner. Went to his house spoke to his wife. She just lied. I am suing him in SCC. Anyone who wants to get in touch with me can do so through Trusted Pros.
We hired "Sam" recently to fabricate and install railings at our house. That's where the HORROR STORY began. He came out on August 24th to take measurements and give us an estimate. We were very specific in what we wanted - it had to match the railing on our back deck (which he was shown), and it absolutely had to be completed before Sept. 19th because of a large party we were hosting that night. We paid him a $933 deposit - our bad, for sure. Problems started immediately. We didn't hear anything and couldn't get ahold of him for a couple of weeks after his initial visit. Finally tracked him down on his cell, and was told "oh yes, yes, no problem, I'll have your railing on in time". He shows up the morning of the party and mounts half of the railing, then with no explanation jumps in his truck and leaves! We're forced to have 70 guests come in through our basement that evening because the railing is incomplete and hence unsafe. To compound matters, the work he did do was both incorrect and incredibly substandard. I have pictures! Wrong railing type going down the stairs, every post wildly out of plumb, wrong anchor plates - it was like a catalog of how not do railing. Utterly laughable. A WEEK goes by and we're unable to reach him despite calling every day. We had no choice but to call another railing contractor to come out and do the job. "Sam" finally calls us 8 days later, claiming illness. We explained to him that we didn't think we were ever going to hear from him again, and had to hire another contractor. We told him that quite naturally, we expected our money back! "Oh no, no no - I don't have it", he cries! I suggested - quite emphatically - that he GET the money, after which he asked for two weeks in which to come up with the sum. That two weeks was up 9 days ago. No word from "Sam", and of course we can't reach him by phone. My wife finally gets through to him yesterday evening during the dinner hour, and after identifying herself, he promptly says "f*ck you" and hangs up on her. We've discovered that the business address on "Sam's" estimate is actually for a townhouse in South Surrey, and that Sam Afsharkia (aka Sam Kia / Sam Kianzad / Farshad Askarkia) neither resides at this address nor is he the owner. This "Sam" is a con artist with a history in small claims court. Stay away - or better still, contact the RCMP.
Worst mistake I've ever made was hiring Saeed Afshar-Kia (aka Sam Kia) to install hand rails for my parents. My father is suffering from Parkinsons and needed the stability to get in and out of their rancher style house. I had a recommendation from a friend in the construction business but this job turned out to be to small for him to travel the distance. He recommended Hi Pro Railing. My mistake was taking his word and not looking into Hi Pro Railing first. Had I done this I wouldn't be writing this review now. Sam came and measured took a deposit of half the money for the job then returned a few weeks later and installed what looked like something made from left over parts from another job. Three railings installed all different heights and not one square. Unfortunately my mother felt somewhat intimidated by Sam and gave him a check for the balance. We tried to stop payment but he was quick to deposit the same day. When I contacted him he agreed to re-make the railings which he did but same problem occurred they did not fit. He promised to come back with properly measured parts and re-install them. Since then I've been to court with him where he tried to lie his way out of completing the job and was ordered to do so by a specific date that has come and gone. We are now closing in on two years since this nightmare began. We've since been trying to serve him papers to return to court and he has obviously avoided this to date, and has made threats of physical violence against myself. this has been reported and we are taking a different avenue to pursue a refund. My parents are in their 80's and didn't deserve to be treated this way. My advise for anyone hiring someone to do work for you please do your research before hiring someone. I sure wish I had.
