Update ... went to court, they were ordered to pay me for damages and taking my money without completing the work. I paid for blue prints and they never sent them to me. If they are so reputable, then where are my 3,000$ blue prints I paid for???
Most of the $5000 deposit received from this customer went to out-of-pocket disbursements, including $3,220.50 for the engineer. Regrettably, the old ways of doing business where sketches could be done on the back of a two-by-four or a napkin - are long over.
This customer has made themselves out to be a victim. They accomplished that by cancelling the agreement unilaterally. They have not directed their anger at themselves, not even one ounce of remorse is expressed. Not one ounce. Zero.
It is all somebody else s fault, even though it was their decision.
This is indicative of the unreasonable approach taken by this customer. A calm reasonable person would ask themselves: what possible value is there to Iron Fort in having these engineering plans drawn up unless there existed a contract to do the work? Expecting Iron Fort to absorb the disbursements (over and above the considerable loss of their own time) makes little or no sense.
The customer now seeks to intimidate Iron Fort by inflicting reputational damage for a decision made by the customer, not by Iron Fort. This is unfortunately malicious and is regrettable.

Iron Fort Construction did an absolute amazing job on my washroom! The renovation was a complete gut job with major plumbing issues. They fixed it all and it's like walking into a new house. They do very high quality work! The renovation took 4 weeks and broke my budget but many other problems in the house were fixed and it was worth it. I recommend this company for any renovation needed, big or small home. They are very nice people as well and family oriented. They were honest and very knowledgeable.

We are extremly pleased and proud of our new kitchen. This company and specifically the owner is wonderful to work with. If your looking for good quality work, then these are the workers you want. Good, honest and reliable people. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of their work. Doing a full kitchen renovation while still living in your home can be cumbersome, but they made it easy. We continuously realide on their expertise and they never let us down. They are a one stop company that does it all, none of the problems with subcontractors. All materials used were of high quality and installed with perfection. The owner told us throughout the renovations, " We are not happy until you are Happy". Would I use them again...absolutely without hesitation.

Extremely friendly, good price, fast response time for an emergency (on a Holiday). Good work, no-nonsense or unnecessary delays to increase cost. The owner is an extremely nice man to deal with. Would recommend to anyone.
