Jansen contracting. and James Jansen in particular, swindled us out of money, did not pay trades and continually lied to us. They never did finish our basement, and it got to the point where we told them they weren't welcome in our house. The good news is we disputed our charges through our credit card company and were successful in recovering the funds. If they're still in business I'd be surprised, but if they are, BEWARE and DO NOT use them.
Be Aware and Do Not have any businees dealings with Jansen Contracting (owner James P Jansen). They were paid in full for the work and they did not fully finish saying it would be done under warranty. They will not respond to any calls. They did not pay contractors and as such numerours contractors have put liens on my home which i am paying out of pocket to get removed. Very unethical!!! Stay away from this contractor.
Was supposed to have garage completed by end of October 2011. Still waiting for job to be 'completed' but they are no longer returning phonecalls... or even answering calls. I would stay away. Seemed great at beginning, but once we lost our project manager in November, we have had no consistent communication or follow-up. Quality depends on how much you are willing to stand over them. Subcontractor work was very sloppy.
Beware of these Theifs!!
They have not finished the job. Took the money and ran. We've paid in full but still have not been finished for 4 months now. We've had multiple liens placed on our house because James Jansen won't pay their subcontractors because they "can't Afford it"
They continue to sell jobs hope to dig themselves out of the hole but only continue to rob more homeowners of money and not pay subs.
Do not consider working with them. It is horrible what they've done to us and how it's impacted us.
We spend close to 20hrs a week trying to talk to James Jansen, fixing mistakes and talking with our lawyers about how to try and resolve this mess.
Save yourself a lot of time, headache and money and avoid these cons!!!
Avoid this company! The owner of the company will sit down with you, tell you his company is different, that his staff is exceptional, and that his projects have hard and fast completion dates. In truth, communication with the company was poor, the project manager was very disorganized and did not seem all that involved or on-the-ball, and the project ran well past the promised completion date. I will not use them again, and strongly suggest others don't either.
