We had Jim do some work for us in our home primarily in the bathroom. We were extremely satisfied with the quality of the work and his professionalism. This is not the whole story his pricing for the quality of the work was another plus. As a disabled individual on a disability pension that was very helpful. Finally the only draw back iif any is the timeline in completing the work. As he has other jobs and does this as additional side gig you need to be patience as it may take longer for work to be completed. If you have time and can work with this last issue I highly recommend this gentleman.
We hired Jim earlier this year to finish a small basement which included a rec room and bathroom. Turns out he also has a full time job so completing the work on time was impossible. We ended up doing a lot of the work ourselves and constantly bugged him to be on-time, as we had tenants moving in soon. He kept asking for money but with no work completed to show for it. We ended up finishing the job ourselves because we got tired of seeing no results.
Well you all have heard the saying " i can only please one customer at a time and today isn't your day and tomorrow doesn't look to good either " that is all i can say about Jen's review!
Well it's time to have my say. I met with Jen at the house where she wanted the work to be done and when i showed up she had everyone there to quote on the jobs that she wanted done. i was only interested in the basement project and i had asked Jen what kind of budget she was working with and she said around $5000.00 materials included when the other contractor and i saw the basement i told him we were working with a $5000.00 budget he laughed he told her she was looking at at least $9000.00 to $12000.00 to complete the whole basement as well as finish a bathroom and laundry room and that he would get back to her with his quote, when he left i told her i would do the project for $4000.00 labour only and we signed the contract i told Jen that i have a full time job and i would take some vacation to try and get the job completed in time. Well like all jobs nothing goes as expected so the project was late by 2 weeks.I almost forgot to mention that Jen said that her and her husband would help me if i needed but they were very busy getting the rest of the house ready for the tenants however they did spend a few days and did give me a hand,i also hired and paid a friend of mine to help me out as well. I did ask for money throughout the project as i have to protect myself from clients that won't pay you when the job is completed so i work on a pay as we go deal which was a good thing here as even though i saved Jen $5000.00 to $8000.00 from the other quotes she decided that because i was 2 weeks late that she wouldn't pay me the $1000.00 that was still owing to me.But her husband was nice enough to realize the work i did and he gave me $400.00 so i did a full basement and bathroom and laundry room plus all up the stairs for a GRAND TOTAL OF $3400.00 i bet most of you reading this on on your speed dial to call me for your projects with that kind of pricing i would to! Oh and the fact that apparently i was paid for no work to show for it well here is a couple of pictures i took of the basement to show you some of the work i did and if you want to see some other HAPPY CLIENTS work that i did go to www.flickr.com/photos/jimofalltradesbarrie and if you like you can let me know and ill let you call them.
IN LIFE YOU CAN HAVE 1000 AT A BOYS AND NO ONE TELLS YOU.............BUTT HAVE ONE OH S#*T AND YOU NEVER HEAR THE END OF IT!!!!!!!!!!
