*ALERT***. This person is a scam artist who prays upon innocent people, specifically elders women whom he quickly gains their trust. He has offered to drive our mother to the bank personally and requested to be paid $5K CASH in addition to a $15K Bank Draft- made payable to his name...not a registered company. No legitimate self-contractor would have done this. He ordered double the required amount of tiles - to reiterate, any professional contractor would know by measurement of a property how much tiles and materials are required. He has disappeared and she has not been reimbursed for of any of the prepaid funds- despite the fact that no work has been commenced or completed. We are hopeful this message prevents others from being victimized. Lastly, his "workers" broke a crystal chandelier whilst moving furniture. DO NOT engage in any employment with person. The policy and courts cannot do anything for the innocent victims due to the lack of supporting paper and /or contractual agreements that he insisted not be exchanged.

HORRIBLE! Stay away! He frauded me and my elderly mother for over 40k. He is full of stories and hires amateur illegal employees to do the demolition. Our house was left destroyed and the small amount of work they did do, we had to hire someone to rip out and re-do it. He didnt hire an licensed electrition, and the work done was a fire hazard.
He preys on older ladies. Never got our money back.

David appeared nice the first day he came to my house, but after I gave him money then he started showing me his true colour. We were not satisfied with his work. The exhaust fan he installed in the washroom is too noisy. I initially called him, he came because he wanted me to write good review for him, and he agreed that it is extremely noisy and told me that he will do me a favour & reinstall a new one but I have to pay another $160 for the exhaust fan then I told him that I will buy the exhaust myself which was cheaper. After I bought the exhaust fan David has been avoiding my calls. Please beware.

David ran away with $18,000, AVOID HIM
First contacted David Jul 10, he came the same eve, we wanted Kitchen reno work (no cabinets), he gave quote of 6750, 3 week contract. Day one demo person came did half work left as he would not take out bottom cabinets, then David convinced and at end of week 1 tile removal was done (total time spent 8-10 hrs). Around this time he convinced us he has better deal for cabinets and carpenter so we agreed to give him full contract of 32k, and he wanted 50% advance before doing anything. We trusted him and gave 55% ($18,000) advance. Week 3 called him 50+ time he answers maybe 5 calls. most week he was missing not reachable, but by the end he got us an electrician to do spot lights with an excuse someone in family died and of week 3 called him 70+ times and he answered maybe 5 calls, we got spot light fixed (time spent 16hrs). Week 4 Tiles were laid.
By this time nothing on cabinets of living room, all over the kitchen live wires hanging, and so was kitchen. and he was nowhere to be found.
overall called him 200+ times, it has been 10 weeks now, I had to hire other people to do the work. We had to hire other people to close holes left by electrician, and close Live hanging wires.
Did research on him couple of weeks ago (should have done before;-() and found he has done this many many other people, see these links.I have filed complaint with ESA & filing a court case.

We have hired Dave to do our renovations and we are not satisfied at all.
They came at the end of June to start the demolishing, install the plumbing for ensuite and they did some electrical work. Since then no work has been done to our home.
We are living in a hell hole, no floors in kitchen and hallway, no walls in bedroom, most of the vents for air conditioning have been disconnected. Just to give you an ideal.
We have repeatedly contacted Dave by phone, email, texts without any response for 3 weeks. We are very angry and disappointed with the work or shall I say the lack of work that has been done. We express our concerns with him and he told us everything would be fix. He was going to make arrangements for workers to come. He was going to call us the next day to let us know when the work would resume. Well, guess what a week later we are still waiting. We do not recommend this company.

David "rescued" me from a contractor who was 2 months delayed in starting my project. David promised to start immediately and his crew showed up first thing the next morning. David and his crew did an amazing job. Professional, (worked alone around my teenage son and daughter) and work all day and into the night. David promised it would be done in 7-10 days, and on day 10 we had a complete and usable bathroom. David's crew removed a 30 year old tub, vanity and toilet and remodelled to update it into the 21st century. Complete with tiling in the shower and on the floor. David's crew did a great job matching our style perfectly (he even picked out the tiles!). Will defiantly use him and his crew again (soon!).

Hired David to complete a renovation on a first level balcony. The job was to convert it to an open deck design, from the closed tiled topped as built by the builder. Repair the stucco caused by water damage from the balcony. Paid 50% of the agreed fee, upon agreeing to the scope of work and a commencement date. The date work was agreed to start came and went, as did subsequent days with no communication from David. No response to voicemails, emails and a couple of word answers to texts, such as will call you (never did) and will start soon. Requests for a refund on the deposit have also gone unanswered. Will never hire this person or company again, I have zero trust in them and now forced to take legal action to recover my $2000 deposit.
Now July 24th and no refund received. Even though one promised within 14 business days. Draw your own conclusions about this company, but my experience is one of broken promises and failure to commit to their word.
October 12th and no refund received.....

On the day when our workers were supposed to start the job they met with a car accident. One person was treated with injuries. Customer was informed that they had a car accident and we will update him about the job. The next day customer emailed twice about when workers are coming again. Next day in the afternoon we communicated with him and requested 2 additional days to start the job due to the car accident. He did not agree with our excuse and requested the refund and did not want to continue with the job.
Customer paid through bank check and it takes 5 business days to receive the clearance. Customer demanded to get back to him on hourly basis which is almost impossible to do in this busy season of construction.
We communicated with him through text messages and email. His wife started calling and talking about taking legal action to get back their money. We did not have the clearance till Thursday June 22nd from the bank but they wanted their money back on Tuesday on wards. Friday June 23rd we replied back to the customer about the refund procedures and it is now being processed.
Nothing wrong was done in this entire process in fact we requested several times to the customer to allow us to finish his work but they did not agree so we have decided to wish them best and refund their money.
They should have consider unfortunate circumstances which can happen to anyone.

Complaint: My name is Jason and I was hired by David. He puts me on all these jobs to go and do demolition just so that people have to stick with him because after that all of the customers i have spoken to say he ignores them and doesnt finish the job and has their money. Now this week he was supposed to pay me cash from last weeks work (over 500 dollars). I did a job on friday and all went well, there were at least 3 workers there and everything was fine. On monday when i was supposed to be paid he comes and tells me this story that there is damage to the job i did on friday and the customer is complaining sending him photos that a wall was damaged (I asked him to show me the photos and he would not and i asked to speak to the client and he would not let me) he is saying the damage is my fault even though i never did anything and i was not the only worker. I have photos of the work I did which was only inside the washroom. he told me to be very careful which i was ( put all garbage in garbage bags, cleaned up after, put all garbage gently onto flat cardboard in a neat pile where i was told just to ensure no damages). I get paid on mondays. it is not wednesday and he is ignoring me after telling me he is holding me reponsible for something i never did. Also there is another worker who worked one day last week not even at the same job site who also did not get paid and says he is taking legal action because david is ignoring him. I believe David has run out of money for the moment and instead of owning up to what he has done he is making up a reason to put the blame on me so he thinks he has an excuse not to pay me. why else is he not paying multiple employees, making up stories, ignoring employees and ignoring customers whos money he has taken and job he did not complete. I have tools that of his that i used for the jobs he gave me and he isnt even trying to come for them any more because he knows he owes me money he can not pay me. I have a family, 2 kids and am not sure what can be done about this. i know of 2 clients in which he demod there kitchen and other areas and then has not spoken to them for weeks, i get his customers calling me asking me wht is going on when i myself do not know, i have suggested them to write reviews for him on this site because i really hope he is stopped before he rips off even more people using this site
**also just to point out how unexperienced his business is and new, he called me because i wasnted a kitchen installed in my basement and when he came to do a quote he offered me a job out of no where, then the next day i started and he pulled another worker off of kijiji. the following week he found an electrician the same way and then on friday he did it again (nothing wrong with this but he is taking on jobs and peoples money when he doesnt even have trusted employees to do the job) plus we were in the hardware store and he looks at this one man and offered him a job too - he declined. so after he basically pulls these employees off the street he wants to leave me responsible for something that was not me and was either done by someone i didnt even know OR that didnt happen in the first place

Josh Building sent you on 6 job sites and 4 sites received complaints and our company paid the damages caused by you. You come to work always late because you have drinking problems and prior record. You were repeatedly told not to sleep at work and be extra careful on each job but you did not care and always wanted to add more and more hours to gain money. In the last 4 jobs we have faced damaged which exceeded far beyond your pay checks. The last job you did in downtown Toronto you were told by David not to cause one single scratch and be extra careful but you did not care. The customer was on vacation but has all the video and pictures of people working and moving around. We requested the customer to send us the written complaint while he is on vacation due to your false statements and denying everything. He took time from his vacation and sent us the email about your work. He has all on video. You called David that he is lying and also the superintendent of the luxury condo building as well while they have all on video who was doing what? Now I have personally requested other customers to send us the complaint how you were relaxing at work place and still causing damage to their properties and come back to us and demand salary by cheating and working carelessly. You have no moral standard of integrity and now using fake people to write reviews to cause us further damaged. Your last paycheck was held because we wanted you to be accountable for what you have been doing on each job specially the last job. Companies don't hire employees to work carelessly and blame others for their problems. You have the courage to go online to write the reviews for little money and call everyone a liar where you are the real culprit. I will personally ask the police to investigate all your friends posting fake reviews to cause damage to our company and you held all the tools that we requested you to return and always made excuses to return them back. That is a theft. The list of damages if we write will be very long.You have young kids and we have tolerated your behavior because you need to feed them but now you have cross the line of ethics and we will hold you responsible for all the damages.
