Our property manager hired this company to do some work on the back door of our house. If we'd had a choice, we would never have hired them. All they had to do was remove a doorframe, replace the rotten wood, replace the doorframe, apply protective outdoor caulking, tile a small area by the doorframe, and paint the damaged wall and trim. Instead, they removed the doorframe, but only looked at the rotten wood and then put the doorframe right back over the rotten wood! They also cut the door trim without measuring it first, so that it sits with half an inch empty space over the floor. They then applied decorative caulking outdoors (seriously??), and cut into laminate flooring without measuring leaving a an uneven gap between the tile and the laminate that is too large to cover with a transition strip. Besides those unprofessional mistakes, they also splashed paint on the ceiling, accidentally rolled paint on the white trim, left the area around the trim unpainted, smeared caulking over the paint, and when they finally put the right caulking around the outside of the door they only put it on one side. 

When we asked why the trim was too short, they pumped the gap full of caulking. When we asked why there was a space between the wall and the tile (which left the subfloor exposed), they pumped it full of caulking. When they suggested using a transition strip that would have left a finger width gap between it and the tile, they said they wanted to fill it with caulking. 

This company stands behind this quality of work and refuses to do anything to repair the damage they have done to our home. This has left us with no choice but to find a professional company to rectify the breathtaking incompetence of ‘Home and Housing Construction.’

We definitely do NOT recommend this company.

Karl and his team did a great job with the short window I had to build an interior wall in my new home before my family moved in. He managed to squeeze me in before my move in date but did not rush and completed the job properly taking the time to ensure my friends and family couldn’t even tell that a new wall was installed blending it seemlessly with the existing walls.

I needed a fence built separating my home and neighbors. Andrew was absolutely phenomenal with coming over to give me a quote and was so professional and courteous. They exceeded all my expectations and I cannot wait for them to come in the future to do some work in my home. Thank you again for your professionalism.

Karl did a beautiful job in completing our backsplash, even working over a long weekend to ensure it would be completed.

Can’t say enough good things about Karl. Had a problem with the roof all winter and no one would come and check on it because it was a small job. Karl was working at a neighbour’s and I told him about the problem. He said he’d stop by after his day was over and have a look. He did just that. And as soon as he was done with the neighbour’s roof the next day he came and fixed mine. Price was much lower than I expected and he took before and after photos to show me what the problem was. Very thorough and I didn’t have a problem all winter with his work. Suggested him to a friend who was getting a roof replaced and Karl came in under budget and, once again, had the job done in a day. Friend was also very appreciative and can’t say enough good things about Karl.

Karl's company reached out to me after I posted on fb that I was looking for someone who could property vent our hardtop screened in gazebo. There was no opening in the roof causing hot air to be trapped inside, making it quite uncomfortable to sit in. He came up with a solution that solved the problem (adding a ridge vent), looks aesthetically pleasing, and was not too expensive. Our issue was resolved to our complete satisfaction within a week. I would not hesitate to use Karl's services again.

Home and Housing Construction was hired to reconfigure a couple of rooms in my walk-out basement. Combination of a high level of client care and diligent work they were able to complete the project in a timely manner. I had suggested some changes well after the job began and they accommodated them all and in good cheer. I would not hesitate to call on their services again and with this review I highly recommend them.

I had to redo a two piece bathroom before I put my house on the market, and I couldn't be more pleased with the work of Karl and his team. Karl was very professional - it was easy to contact him and provided a quote very quickly. I appreciated that Karl was able to provide options based on my budget. The work was done promptly and with great care. There was an entire wall that had to be patched, and the wall now looks great. The work turned out as discussed and as quoted. I am very happy and will definitely use Home and Housing Construction for future projects.

They kept the work space neat, cleaned up after the job, Emails were returned promptly.

We were thrilled with the end result! Their quote was reasonable, particularly in light of some of the other quotes we had received from other contractors.
