Just got a new deck built with KMA Building and the results were unreal! The deck is beautiful! I love it! The guys are super nice and professional and made the construction period as pleasant as construction can be! lol

I will never recommend this company to anyone. Workmanship was below average and had to be redone many times. Window installed crooked framing of walls crooked and used the cheapest 2x4's and even reused 2x4's that where in my garbage pile. They could not read engineers drawing and failed City of Winnipeg inspection. Never showed up to work when he said they would could not count on them for any professionalism most unprofessional company I have ever felt with!

We contracted KMA Building Ltd. to remove our wood deck, built-in hot tub, and pergola and then construct a new composite (Trex) deck. The original business we had expended considerable time emailing photos and project details to had resulted in the arrangement of a meeting at their office to simply further discuss the project . . . and that meeting would only happen almost 2 months later! When we contacted KMA Building, Kevin Armstrong arranged to visit our home just 2 days later for an on-site consultation and discussion about what would best meet our needs.

Kevin openly listened to our concept of what we were looking to do and provided valuable suggestions that brought our concept of what would look best to life. And it was obvious that he was making every effort to keep the project as affordable as possible! He also indicated that the project could be started in the very near future. It was all we needed to know and our scheduled appointment with the other business was cancelled the next day.

Kevin followed up the day after his visit with a written estimate (that included a couple of non-deck side projects) that identified a three stage payment plan. Within three weeks the required permits were obtained and underground utilities had been flagged. Shortly after that, materials arrived and demolition of the old deck began.

Kevin effectively maintained communications with us about materials delivery and ETA of miscellaneous tradespersons who were contracted to perform landscaping and gas line capping, and any delays due to inclement weather.

The project leader, Jagger, also maintained close communication with us at every stage of the project. He readily provided his recommendations when asked and we happily agreed almost 100% of the time. He was accompanied by friendly and industrious work crews that worked as a team. Steady progress was made each day they were on site. In fact, by the date originally scheduled for the in-office appointment with the other business, the project was already 75% complete.

We were impressed with their remarkable attention to detail and exemplary workmanship employed throughout the construction phase. Only the best materials were used, and on two occasions materials that were delivered flawed were returned for replacement. Tradesmen sent by KMA and materials delivery personnel made unsolicited comments about how impressed they were with other projects KMA had been involved with and how easy KMA was to work with.

Crews were very respectful and promptly addressed any questions we had about the details of hows and whys of the construction process. As the project progressed, a couple of minor new requirements were identified. There was no problem adding them to the project. Despite delays resulting from a rainy summer and very hot work conditions, progress was steady.

We proudly report the many glowing reviews by people who have come over to see the new deck, including requests for KMA contact information for projects they were considering.

The entire KMA team was a pleasure to work with, very professional and skilled. We are more than satisfied with the final project result which is more impressive than what we had originally envisioned. And the cost was well within reason for the amount of materials and labour involved! We highly recommend KMA Building Ltd.

These guys are great. Kevin is great and very knowledgable and easy to deal with. They really helped me by rebuilding my deck when it was falling apart. Great job. Very timely and responsive. We recently had our old deck removed and new deck built by KMA Building and we couldn't be happier with the results! From the initial consultation, design, estimate and deck completion, everyone we met was professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. Mr. Armstrong made welcomed recommendations to ensure we would get a beautiful deck that would meet our needs while respecting our budget. The old deck removal was done quickly and the construction crew explained everything they did when asked. They were also careful not to damage existing landscaping as much as possible, which was appreciated. The crew cleaned up before leaving and did an amazing job on the new deck. Sturdy, well built, and even nicer looking that what we had imagined. We have gotten many compliments on the new deck from friends and neighbours and have not hesitated to recommend KMA buildings to everyone we know!

I work in the healthcare field and I expect a high rate of transparency, promptness and quality assurance. This is terribly difficult to find in the realm of construction and home repair.

Kevin is extremely vigilant and clear in his quotes and timelines. He is honest and has great workmanship! I am planning to hire him for future work as we speak!

We hired Kevin to build a deck in our backyard for our new house this summer. Price is very reasonable compared to many other builders on the market. Communication is easy and quick. Kevin answered every single question we asked. Kevin handled the permit application and it took only 3 days to finish the work. So far, we like our deck, and we probably would hire him again next year to build our garage and fence.

I shopped around for quotes for a month trying to find a company that I was confident would do a great job, be on time, be very professional, and build a beautiful deck with high quality materials. KMA Building did all of those things and even exceeded my expectations.

Kevin sent me a very competitive quote, was very quick to reply to any questions I had (and I had tons!), walked me through the whole process, took the time to talk about all the fine details and throughout the build made sure I was happy with the results.

They showed up when they said they would and built this deck in 3.5 days. Kevin took care of all the engineering and permits with the city. He was always polite and cleaned the job site well after they were finished.

Bottom line is KMA is the best value you can get for a deck builder in Winnipeg. I highly highly recommend! The pictures speak for themselves!
