With Covid 19 changing everything we knew as normal, we’ve had to constantly reinvent and adapt to the new regulations in operating a restaurant to survive.

When they mandated restaurants to be closed inside again, we wanted to build on our outside patio space as an extension of the inside; warm and inviting, spacious and safe and keeping to the beauty of the St. Lawrence neighborhood.

We met up with Sunny with a 15’ X 54’ Pergola idea and he far exceeded all of our expectations. He is professional and thorough and was sensitive and understanding to our situation and immediateness.

His crew were exceptional. They were highly skilled, diligent and considerate. They worked through challenging weather and tight timelines.

I highly recommend Lagman Construction to anyone. You won’t regret it.

All work was completed in a professional and workmanlike manner. Owner and lead carpenters have substantial industry experience and are skilled in complex site problem solving. Quick, efficient and no issues with the work.

Sunny and his hard-working crew did an EXCELLENT job. I am very pleased with the finished product. I was especially impressed because any problem that came up was immediately addressed and I was given options to rectify it.

We did experience a issue regarding the time it took but I would still gladly hire them in the future. They were a pleasure to work with.

I obtained 5 quotes for medium size job for some renovations at my house

Sunny (the owner) was not the cheapest but he was close to the cheapest quotes i got.

I just had a good feeling about Sunny, he knew what he was talking about, he was confident and very professional.

He answers his phone calls, messages and emails which made me feel comfortable dealing with him.

He finished everything as promised in few days and he kept me informed about everything through out the process.

I got to say I am impressed by the quality of work done.

Lagman Construction

My husband and I recently purchased a 40+ year old home in Newmarket. The house was very divided (closed concept), outdated and needed a lot of work. Before we took possession we brought the company owner, Sunny Lagman, to the first walkthrough to lay out our vision. Sunny was very experienced, new exactly how he would tackle our asks (which I’ll lay out below) and provided us a rough estimate. We coordinated with Sunny to bring the plumber, tiler and electrician to our second viewing to get a finalized quote - which we were very comfortable with. Our major ask was that we have the home in living condition so that we could move in the week prior to Christmas. We took possession on November 15th and were moved in just over a month and before Christmas as scheduled, with only the basement work to complete in the new year. In that time Lagman Construction completed to following:

Main floor

• Blow out the wall between the kitchen and fireplace room to give us the open concept we wanted

• Electrical wiring in kitchen and fireplace room for new pendant lighting, moving the light switches, new outlets where requested

• Remove and replace front entrance chandelier

• Gas lines to new stove and two external gas lines for BBQ and patio fireplace

• Water line for fridge

• Plumbing for washer and dryer in laundry room as well as bulkhead for dryer vent / install of laundry tub

• New vinyl flooring throughout main floor

• Installing a door from the front hall into the garage (no direct access previously)

Upstairs

• Sanding / staining stairs

• Gut job on ensuite and second bathroom, including tiled shower/floor, install of glass shower doors, vanity, etc. (the whole works) + electrical

Basement

• Installing a second sump pump

• Rough in and completing a 3 piece bathroom (tiled shower, glass shower doors, install vanity, install light fixtures, electrical for vanity light, shower light, ceiling fan, outlets)

• Demo of a useless closet to open up the basement including drywall mud, etc. to finish it

• Pot lights for the walkway to the new bathroom

Sunny was diligent in coordinating the sub-trades and came by frequently to make sure we were happy with the progress / quality. Sunny also made sure to organize the order of the work to get us into the house as soon as possible, prioritizing the upstairs and main floor so we could celebrate Christmas in our new home. We are extremely pleased with the final results, total timeline, and total cost compared to estimate. We would use Lagman Construction again in the future and will be recommending him to our family and friends.

Lagman Const was great. While mine was a relatively minor project Sunny treated it like it was his priority. He kept in constant communication and addressed any concerns quickly and effectively.

They also remained true to their estimate with no surprises despite being by far the most economical quote.
