Lived in our home 30 years and saved 8 years for this full kitchen, bathroom and hallway reno. We told Lukas this was a really big deal for us. Bought high end goods and wanted a good job. Pretty impressed at first- my wife and I completely and fully trusted him. Told friends and coworkers about him and he got two big jobs through us.
Started out pretty good in August 2020 to early November 2020 and some things looked nice at first. Progress was very, very slow, but we were very patient and some of the delays (at first) were covid supply chain related. First time he disappeared was November 9, 2020 to January 13, 2021. He said his family was horribly impacted by covid, with family deaths, so we were understanding of course.
In 2021, there were a couple productive weeks, but mostly was still slow - often one day a week on Fridays when his worker he sent was tired out. It was becoming clear we did not matter. Or we felt we did not matter. His price kept going up for unforeseen add ons or extras not included.
We continued to be patient, but started asking for more committed time lines. Then he stopped coming again April 2021- strung us along until August 2021- kept saying he was coming to finish, but tomorrow never came.
In August 2021, we asked him for a small refund to hire someone else if he was not going to finish.
Totally new bathroom barely seven months old is now falling apart. Needs re-grout/tile, electrical fixes in kitchen, plumbing has been partially redone, insulation we paid for was not done, and straight out lied saying a vent was installed- was never installed and have pictures of our ‘wet attic” as was just a hole up to the attic with cold or hot air pouring in all winter and summer.
Moisture issues attic/ kitchen, grout falling out, cheap doors don’t fit or latch, wrecked our expensive screen door after we paid him $1600 for a new back door and have to now replace our bent screen door, on top of all the other costs, broke some personal figurines and tried to hide it, left garbage we needed a rental truck to dispose of—- just name a few—- the list is endless.
We provided all high end items, Omega custom cabinets and what he used was junk and cheap. We are redoing with prehung solid doors (our door handles were far more expensive than his very inexpensive doors.
Lukas Tumaniwcz, owner of LTR Construction Projects (Cement in the summer), is very friendly guy, an extremely poor communicator, has hundreds of excuses, no shows more than he shows up, can make something look good for now; however, it will need to be redone.
We tried really, really hard to work with him and waited a full year before we lost our patience, and even then, only asked he finish or refund 3 days work and he became extremely angry. Stay away from this company!
Do not hire Lukas Tumaniwcz owner of LTR Construction Projects if you care about the safety or functional integrity of your home. Seems like a great person and family man. Wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Scott and Jennifer B. Roberts.
If you want shoddy work, multiple no shows, being treated like a second class citizen; and lots of frustration this is the company for you! We did a full kitchen renovation and 3 bathroom vanities. LTRconstruction was responsible for the cabinet removal/install, plumbing, tile work and electrical. I had AmiStone complete the counter tops (top notch company, Highly recommend) While I love my new kitchen and I-must say the initial interview and planning process was efficient and easy the rest has not been enjoyable.
The cabinets took awhile to arrive ordered Dec 4, delivery Feb 22. Tear down and partial install Feb 23, after that is where things fell apart. The cabinets that arrived for the bathrooms did not look like the plans, but if they were going to fit, we used them anyway, so we wouldn’t have to wait for replacements. We were missing part of the island, parts of it arrived broken, scratched or damaged (no fault to Lucas). This held everything up and trying to get them back to complete anything else has been a nightmare and very frustrating. Lucas has terrible communication skills, doesn’t respond, makes plans to come and then doesn’t show up 6 times, with no message or apology. Very unprofessional and excuse after excuse. The majority of the work was completed in Feb we are still not done. We went 6 weeks without working sinks in 3 of our bathrooms, and the kitchen, brushing our teeth and doing dishes in the laundry room, waiting for them to come back. Again, waiting on replacement parts, so not technically Lucas’ fault. Waited a month for them to come back once the parts were installed to do the tile work and finish up toe kicks and finishing work. The electrical work needed to be fixed, after the tile work was done, 2 weeks without power to the counter area waiting for him to send someone, 6+ weeks and still without a vacuum (built in) due to being replaced improperly, and we have not seen them since March 28. No shows at least twice since then. We work and rearrange our schedule to accommodate when he says they are coming.
I finally lost it on him on April 22nd, after another no show, and practically begging him multiple times to come and just finish the job. After putting us off yet again, I had a few choice words for him and he is now dealing with my husband. He told me that I was immature for swearing, he said he has been “good to us”, I asked if he was “Ffiing serious? (That was my swear) From there it escalated a little, and I let him know that I would be submitting a review, and he threatened me with his lawyer, I am not saying anything that is not true. Believe the bad reviews. If he tries to dispute the review, like all of other bad reviews he disputed, I have every conversation and pictures to show the progress and subpar work. We were very accommodating and patient with this company, but a 5 month kitchen Reno is ridiculous. I would not recommend LTR Construction. We paid over 16 K upfront and owe 20%, so we are not a big priority for him. We just had our carpets replaced this week and they communicated what time, made a plan and showed up, the contractor even called me in the evening to see how things went and confirmed a time the next morning. This is how a business should be ran. Respect and communication.
The funny thing is that we are doing other major Reno’s and if he had treated us with respect, valued our business, and finished the work with care and promptly, we possibly would have used him.
Lucas took over 5 months to not complete a job that was quoted to take 1 month. Eventually we fired him and hired a more confident contractor to install what he could not accomplish. His workers do not speak English and the whole process was a nightmare. I would highly recommend staying far far away from LTR construction.
Very disappointed with this contractor. He is personable but unreliable. The project is not complete but he states that is "the best he can do". I have cabinet doors that do not line up and crown mouldings that are installed incorrectly and spliced in the wrong places. This was an expensive reno and he now will not come back to correct the errors. He also damaged our new front door bringing in the cabinets and said no problem he would fix it. Once again he now refuses to come back and fix it.
I would be very cautious if you are hiring this company and be very aware that he will call with many excuses as to why he cannot show up on a particular day. A few excuses I was given were: migraines, flu, swollen hands, lost a worker, worker went to Europe without giving any notice, had a holiday booked, The flu excuse I later found out that he was working on another job.
I was told this renovation would take one week and it took over four months!
LTR Construction did our tiles for us in the bathroom. I am so pleased with the work. The job took minimal time and the guy's were very professional. The final job looks fantastic I would recommend them anytime and will definitely have them back for any other projects that may come up.
Lukas and Adam did the tiling around the stove and backsplash. I had glass tiles which I new were difficult to work with, but they did an excellent job. The grout color recommended was perfect. They were very prompt, knowledgeable and courteous, trustworthy and reliable. They left the area very clean. Even though I had to cancel my first scheduled installation date, they were able to fit me in the following week which was much appreciated. I would highly recommend LTR construction projects.
We are so pleased with our basement bar it is a complete show stopper! LRT went above and beyond. Lukas worked with our budget, time frame, and improved on all our ideas. There were so many things we never thought of and his expertise and skills were so appreciated. We highly recommend him.
