Mark did a fantastic job building and installing our shed, back deck and gazebo. In addition to building and installation, Mark also carried out all the necessary demolition and disposal of several existing structures in our backyard.
Mark was very flexible with us when project adjustments or additions were put forward and we could always rely on his advice and commitment to giving us the best project outcome possible. He is extremely attentive with all project details and always made the effort to keep us up to date about design options and timelines throughout the project lifecycle. We can't say enough about the quality of Mark's work, or how happy we are with the outcome of our backyard. I should also note, that in addition to Mark's technical abilities, we found the whole project to be pretty stress free because he was always very respectful, dependable and trustworthy.
We hope to work with Mark again in the future and highly recommend him to others.
We met Mark shortly after he was starting his business and he did an office and bathroom upgrade as well as a deck. His work is perfection and when we purchased another house we hired him without reservation.
Mark is very personable and is easy to work with in designing and executing our vision. He has excellent relationships with required trades, coordinating work in a timely manner ensuring that targets are met. Mark is committed to the job and was focused on our project to completion with reasonable costs and timelines. He is always willing to learn new skills that are required to complete a project.
He provided creative design ideas while keeping our goals at the centre and made sure that safety and accessibility were maintained.
We are delighted with the work completed and will definitely use Mark for ongoing renovation projects.
Exceeded expectations. We can’t say enough good things about the quality of workmanship, attention to detail, very good communication and incorporation of customer preferences, great advice and reliability. Delivery as promised. Though we selected this company totally neutrally, from the Web, it was as if they were working on this project with the care and quality one might provide for someone in their own circle of friends or family. Mark Wilson Design/Build will be the first call we make for our next project. Fair pricing. On time. On budget. Great quality. Highly Recommended.
When a water leak necessitated a complete renovation of our century home's kitchen, we went back to Mark due to his great design eye, integrity, and restoration knowledge. He patiently worked with us to create a design, timeline and resolve obstacles throughout the renovation process. He helped coordinate with the other trades (electrical, plumbing, flooring installers), kept us on schedule and on budget, and brought a creative flair to the redesign. Our entire family appreciates the recreation of our kitchen as the bright, spacious, well-organized heart of our home.
HIGHLY RECOMENDED...HIS EFFORTS MADE OUR MAJOR PROJECT A SUCCESS.
Mark was recommended to us by a neighbor who had his basement finished by him. We initial engaged Mark to do the carpentry work but were so impressed with his skill, knowledge and attitude that we ended up employing him virtually full time for six months. Ultimately, he did all the Design work ( Auto Cad), Permits, Demolition, Carpentry, Drywall and Oversaw all the Other Work including, Plumbing and Electrical. The Renovation included: removal and relocation of five interior walls, expanded exterior door, hard wood and tile flooring, complete kitchen and three bathrooms, stairs and railings, basement, two gas fireplaces, deck, ducting, cabling, telephone, and numerous minor items.
Mark helped prepare my house for sale by looking after many smaller projects such as trim, painting, floor refinishing, and kitchen cupboard repairs. He did an amazing job and I had an offer on my house two days after it went on the market, even before the first open house. This was ideal for me as a seller. I know a big part of that was the work that Mark did. He found some tile that matched mine at the restore and fabricated some wood trim that had gone missing. I would definitely recommend Mark.
Mark designed and built a deck for my century-old home. The deck not only suits the house, it has added tremendous value and function. Mark is extremely professional and I can't wait to hire him again to do some work on the front of my home and some interior work as well. Thanks Mark.
Mark designed and built our open-concept, basement renovation project. This included: a third bedroom and bathroom, a quilting studio with desk/office, an entertainment area and a children's play area. We are very happy with the work Mark did for us and enjoy using each of these new areas.
We found Mark to be a very skilled carpenter and designer. Mark explained and consulted with us during each stage of his work and he kept us up-to-date about what to expect when.
We would not hesitate to recommend Mark's services to others looking to have excellent results, done by a very fine craftsman.
Mark has been a tremendous assistance in the renovation and upgrading of our late 19th century home. He worked with us on several projects: a backyard deck; various carpenty tasks associated with upgrading and energy retrofitting our home. In 2016 Mark renovated our kitchen. For all these various projects, he's developed an intelligent design/plan/approach and a corresponding budget that suited our needs; then he's proceeded with the implementation in a thoughtful and timely manner with a careful eye to detail and quality workmanship. He worked well and coordinated tasks with other contractors. He's always attentive to the need for ongoing communication as a project develops, is very likeable, reliable and respectful. My husband and I highly recommend Mark.
