Mark was a former co-worker so when I wanted to renovate my kitchen I asked him some questions. Even though I live in Kingston he said he and a partner would come out for a week and do the reno. It was a disaster. I came home from work to find my kitchen cabinets hung up at the ceiling. I was in shock. The next day I called the girl at Home Depot that had made up the plans and she too was shocked. I called Mark from work to tell him to call Home Depot and discuss with them, he also had a copy of the plans. He didn't answer my call so I had to leave work and drive home to find him and his buddy sitting on my couch going over the plans. They had to paint and the paint job was terrible, they even came back from Innisville to fix the painting but it never happened. They were paid in full and then some, they said I still owed them for certain things that I was not expecting and charged me gas money everytime they had to go to Home Depot. This was done in May a few years ago. By winter my kitchen was freezing, I had to hire someone else to figure out what the problem was. He had to start tearing apart the kitchen where the venting to the outside was. Only to find out that the vent pipe was never attached, there was no spray foam insulation at all and the wrong vent cap was put on the outside so basically it was totally open to the outside and all the cold air was coming right in from the top of my cabinets. There is also a divider between the fridge and the counter that they had to install, it was suppose to be installed from the ground up and they hung it from the ceiling. I sent an e-mail to Mark and spoke to him on the phone and all I got was "At least give us an A for effort". I don't know all the ins and outs on kitchen renos since this is my first house and had saved for a long time to get the kitchen done. Mark also told me that his partner has ripped people off in the past by scimping out and doing things incorrectly that the person wouldn't notice until problems start happening. He blamed everything on his partner and yet he was part of it too and saw and took part in everything that was happening. There is more but I think I've said enough. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone, I can't believe they are still in business. I have been looking for a site where I could give my feedback and finally found this one, you can see how much this has angered me for a few years now that I still need to vent about it. And to think that Mark was a friend of mine.
Congratulations to Caley Ash for being the 1st person in 25 years of business to write a negative review!
That is a lot of satisfied customers! Caley seems to be forgetting here that she got the renovation at over 50% off a normal kitchen renovation and the fact that she would not trust anyone from the Kingston area to do the work but me, and after traveling from Innisfil to Kingston to get an old friends kitchen renovation done, I am wondering why the negative review? I think there is more to the story here than Caley is letting on!
Quality of work was not top notch, damaged property, work not completed and no time to come back and finished even though paid in full. Had several heated decisions in regards to workmanship and unfinished work and end result was he would only come back out if he was paid additional monies. Would not recommend this contractor to my worst enemy.
This lady was the worst customer I have ever dealt with, there was no pleasing her, I was falsely accused of scratching her sink despite the fact that her partner stood over my shoulder during the entire renovation and agreed that it was the new halogen lights in the ceiling that were showing up her scratch marks in the sink! I did have some minor touch ups to finish the job and made arrangements to get that done, but after driving from Keswick to Markham only to find out that she decided to go gambling at Casino Rama instead of getting the ceiling fixed, with out letting me know! So I am wondering why the negative review considering I was a referral from her best friend!
