Thomas and his team were instrumental in our whole home renovation. Starting out by building a whole new fence after our old one collapsed, we then had him out numerous more times for countless other projects.

Thomas has a great network of tradespeople to tackle every job you give him. His background in construction in the film industry comes through with his creative approach to design.

You will not be disappointed by his work and he’ll take every effort to make a job right, even if it was not originally done by him.

Those 3 words kept popping to mind each time I spoke with Thomas and his team, and as I watched them work. That’s exactly what I was looking for in a contractor and I couldn’t be happier with the work that Markley Construction did at my house.

I spent hours reading through online reviews and talking to contractors before chosing Markley Construction and I know I made the right choice. If you’re like me, few things are more stressful than trying to find a contractor – are they going to show up? What kind of work will they do? Will I end up on one of those tv shows where they have to rip apart work that was done because it was all wrong? I’m confident that the work Thomas and his team did at my place was done right, is high quality, and will last me a lifetime!

I was pleased to see and hear, throughout the entire process, that Thomas and his team were committed to quality. My focus was making sure that the work was done right and that I wouldn’t end up with issues in the future. And it was clear from our first meeting that Thomas was committed to quality. I had lots to time to watch the Markley crew work and even I, as someone who doesn’t know much about construction, could see clearly that they took the time to make sure that everything was done properly. No shortcuts, no “just leave it – that’s good enough”, no “don’t worry about it – nobody will see it”. That’s exactly what you want, and what you need, from a solid contractor.

To sum-up, Markey Contruction hit all the key things I was looking for:

• excellent communication – they took the time to walk me through the whole process and when there were decision to be made, Thomas explained my options, pros/cons, and made sure I had all the info I needed to make an informed decision

• quality work – throughout the whole process they took the time to do things right

• a professional and really friendly crew – what a great team!

• honest – at every stage I felt that Thomas and team were up-front and honest with me.

I have already recommended Markley Construction to my neighbour and friends, and I’m confident that anyone dealing with Thomas and his team will also have a great experience.

I am an owner of an older house and thus I am not new to hire contractors for repair and renovation. For the current issue of split/loosened door jamb, I have gone through at least 5 contractors with various quotes and prices. I am a bit shocked by the salesmanship of some contractors, trying to talk me into replacing the entire door and door frame, which would have costed me thousands of dollars. I felt so fortunate to have contacted Thomas Markley. He showed up on time and was very courteous. Importantly, he looked like an organized fellow. He asked me about the problem and requested pictures. He showed up prepared, with all the necessary tools. What impressed me is his honesty. He explained to me that my problem was repairable and did not need total replacement. He fixed the problem like a pro. For the quality of work and the very fair price he charged, I have kept him on my go-to person list for any future house repair.

I would also not hesitate to recommend him to anyone else.

Although he did s good job, we are having problems with the mirrored closet doors. It’s been a year since the renovations and still have not resolved the issue which started months ago! I am being told that it’s the supplier. However I still have a mirrored closet door out of the frame.

Having moved back home to help my elderly father with my disabled mother it was decided to renovate part of their unfinished basement putting in a spacious bedroom & living room area for me to have as my space.

Not ever dealing with renos or contractors I was nervous as you often hear so many horror stories of home renovations Thankfully a good friend of mine recommended Thomas Markley.

Not only is Markely Construction Team skilled craftsmen that did amazing work beyond my expectations. They are very respectful & patient when dealing with the elderly ( especially listening to my dad's stories ) & clean up the work space at the end of each day

Thomas took my idea and designed the most beautiful bedroom with the coolest LED lighting in my closets!! Thomas & his crew made this a good experience.

His pricing is fair and is the work is done in a timely fashion too. Worth every penny!

Being new to BC, we were not familiar with any home improvement people, that we could use. We just purchased a townhouse, that needed a complete overhaul.

Handled carport to garage conversion and siding at very reasonable costs compared to other contractors. Work done professionally with no issues.

Thomas Markley of Markley Construction was clearly not experienced with the scope of work required and subsequently could not complete the work on time or on budget. His crew were courteous but lacked the necessary supervision. I would not recommend Markley Construction for anything but very minor works that require little or no project managment skills.

I found Markely Construction on the internet when I was looking for emergency repairs in a condo I had recently bought in Vancouver. I live in Calgary so everything needed to be arranged by phone.

I had hired someone who referenced thenselves as "Vancouver's #1 handyman" specializing in popcorn ceiling removal. They botched my job so bad I needed immediate repairs including a complete "redo" of the ceiling, painting, cleaning, replacing the light fixtures, replacing the locks, etc.

Thomas, (& the crew he brought in), were exceptional. They worked long days AND over the Thanksgiving week-end to meet MY extremely tight timelines. The crew arrived, as expected & I was consistently kept in the loop regarding progress &/or changes. Budget overages were communicated in a timely manner & were a result of the overtime required to complete the job to meet my timelines.

As with all jobs, I kept finding more work they could do for me. Again Thomas scoped out the job, shopped for competitive pricing & completed the work, as required.

I am planning a major reno within the next year & will not hesitate to hire Markley Construction. Thomas went above & beyond & I look forward to meeting him when I relocate to Vancouver.

Thomas was great to work with. He was always promt to return my calls and answer my questions. The job was done on time and with a very high standard for quality. A conscientious attitude was taken with all aspects of the job. I was very happy with the finished project and would definately work with him again.
