North Shore Bathrooms

Renovating our bathroom was the last of our home renovations. We had left this til last as we were just tired from all of our other renovations and we were not looking forward to it.

We met with Eric who put us at ease and worked with us to design our bathroom. The bathroom is somewhere in size between a powder room and a full bathroom and the then current bathroom was poorly set up and space was not well utilised. With Eric's help we were able to install a larger vanity, a larger bathtub shower enclosure and toilet only to end up with a larger feeling and brighter bathroom. The new bathroom blends a traditional style with a modern European look which fits hand in glove with the rest of our house renovations. For Eric, this was more than just a bathroom but it had to fit in with the overall design plan. His tradesmen were craftsmen not just workers which added to the elegance of the new bathroom. I did wait a bit before writing this review as I wanted to ensure that the review didn't reflect quick impressions but actually reflected a time tested review of the workmanship. All is good and we are more than happy to give Eric and NS Bathrooms a stellar review.

On another level, Eric was a pleasure with which to work, he was friendly and truly showed that he cared and wanted to ensure that we were happy with our renovation. You could also tell that he takes pride in his work. Another point I'd like to raise about their service is that they will select fixtures etc., if you so choose or work with you to help you select on your own. Eric even volunteered to pick up and store our fixtures, toilet etc., after we had purchased them. That is going beyond the call and shows how much customer service means to him and to NS Renovations.

These guys did a great job renovating my bathroom.

Over a year later and we are still having to do or redo work ourselves that we paid for and was not done/done extremely poorly. We’ve had to pay electricians/tilers/carpet layers/dry wallers/painters/glaziers to come to finish or redo work we paid Northshore Bathrooms for. We had to pay trades that had not been paid by the company, even though we paid Northshore Bathrooms for those trades’ completed work. We still do not have a functioning master bathroom shower and spent yet another of the many, many weekends previous doing renovations ourself that we paid for because we paid Northshore Bathrooms our life savings to do a finished renovation. It is extremely saddening and frustrating to see what a mess our new-to-us home was left in by this company.

We love our new bathroom. Mitchell and Theepan understood the Modern Farmhouse look I was going for right away and we are very happy with the overall final look.

Reading the other reviews - I think we got a different Mitch on the project Went way over the timeline. Quality of contractors was very varied. The contractor for the tile was horrible. The grout colour uneven. The tile uneven. Mitch had a lot of excuses. Would not recommend this company at all. The concept of the design was great. The first week gutting the bathroom was on time. Everything else was not. Replaced the bathroom door - cutting of the door uneven. Not properly painted. Thank goodness my husband is a handyman and could finish up all the details that were not attended too! He didn't even bother to come back and finish the transition strip from bathroom to hallway. We waited and eventually realized he was not coming back. He did give us a discount to make up for the uneven tile on the main floor. Many of the people he used had to come back several times to correct the poor work they did the first time. It was a very disappointing experience.

We Love Our New Bathrooms!

After I gutted and rebuilt our two main bathrooms I contacted Mitchell to install the tile. My wife and I had already picked out the tile we wanted; a large and heavy 12" x 48" tile as the main tile and a ledge stone for a feature wall. All together about 400 sqft.

Mitchel gave us a very reasonable budget to work with and would install the Schluter System in the shower and bath areas.

Aaron came out to do the tile work. For the 2 weeks he was here he was like another family member! I was doing other parts of the overall house renovation and often we would break for lunch together like "old co-workers"

He was meticulous in his work, very professional. One of the things we appreciated very much was that he would call in the morning to give us a heads up to when he would arrive...giving us a chance to get out of bed and have a coffee, before he did.

When a problem or issue arose, he would communicate it immediately and we could find the best course of action rectify it. When we were finishing the shower we noticed that the cover plate for the shower valve didn't quite cover the hole in the tile. He said; "No problem." and broke out the tile and replaced it.

All in all, we are very pleased with the work, the cost, but mostly the people. I wouldn't hesitate to ask them back when I do the basement bathroom!

The service that was provided for us by Mitch was second to none. We didn't know exactly what we wanted at first. but they gave us countless options and design choices. They made us feel confident in our decisions and we are loving every minute we spend in our new bathroom. Five stars all the way!

We started our bathroom reno with an incompetent contractor. We had to fire him when it became obvious that he could put our condo neighbours and ourselves at risk. I phoned Mitchell Lucas, owner of NORTH SHORE BATHROOMS and FLOORING. He promptly brought in courteous and skilled tradespeople to correct and complete the work. We couldn't be more pleased with the finished job. He was also extremely helpful in dealing with our first contractor. He was on top of the project daily and always returned our calls promptly. We are happy to recommend Mitchell and his team to anyone who wants a professional and stress free bathroom renovation.
