We needed, on short notice, a house inspection for a house we wanted to buy and requested Northern Inspections for inspecting the house. It allotted us the date we wanted and did an excellent job.

Stephan Tremblay, the inspector, was very thorough and methodical in his approach. He also showed us everything we need to know about the house all the while he was performing the inspection work on the house. It turned out to be a good learning experience for us in addition to getting an excellent inspection done on our house.

I have had three inspections done in Windsor in the last 4 years. Last week I hired Northern Inspections on the recommendation of my Real Estate Agent. Stephan turned up early to inspect the outside of the home; it was very cold that day. He introduced himself and advised us of the scope of his work. The inspection took 2 1/2 hours, which proves how thorough he was. Stephan checked and tested the appliances, which was not done by my other inspectors. Photos were taken throughout the home, showing the good and the bad. Stephan instructed me on how to maintain certain areas of the home and how to save energy and utility costs. An additional service, that was not offered by the other inspectors, but very important, is the thermal imaging. The device "sees" through walls and ceilings, detecting moisture and the amount of insulation present. This especially critical information is needed after the severe floods we have had in the past year.

Stephan answered every question I asked and treated me with respect, not judging me as a senior female who didn't know what was going on.

He promised to have his report and photos that same day and he came through on his promise within a couple of hours.

We recently hired Northern Inspections to conduct a home inspection for an older home we were seeking to buy, renovate and sell. After walking around the home with Stephan and listening to his expert feedback it was immediately clear the home was beyond traditional repairs. Stephan is a true expert and provided detailed feedback on everything from electrical, plumbing, foundation, moisture readings, heating & cooling and general repairs. He pointed out many things that were not immediately apparent to us. We found Stephan to be very knowledgeable and professional and we ended up hiring him a second time for a different home. Stephen did a home inspection for me on a fourplex rental unit in September 2017. He did an excellent job in highlighting several structural issues and also found asbestos, which the owner initially said was not present. This would have cost me thousands of dollars in repairs. If I had bought this fourplex it would also be uninsurable.

Northern Inspections was contacted by my agent Paul Bistany on Sunday I believe and set up an appointment for Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. He took credit card on completion and sent the receipt by e-mail and the printed information the same day.

We had a home inspection done by Stephan after writing an offer on an older town house. He was prompt, thorough and very knowledgeable providing contacts for any items that would need attention. Due to Stephan's knowledge and recommendations we were able to realize that the property was not a good fit for us due to the work that needed to be done and the amount of money that it would have taken to fix all the items Stephan identified as needing replacing or fixing. The biggest thing for us was that the townhouse was listed and being used as a 4 bedroom townhouse but 2 of the bedrooms were in the basement where there was no egress window for escape in case of fire. This is both illegal and very dangerous. We would not ever put our family or guests in these downstairs bedrooms and putting in the required windows would have been both extremely expensive and obtaining permission from the condo association would have been difficult and a lengthy process.

Stephen did a great job for us in inspection our new home. He arrived early, did a thorough walk around and then went through each aspect of each room on step at a time, all the while taking lots of time to explain lots of things to me and to answer any questions I had. The home also had an in ground pool which was also inspected free of charge.

Had a home inspection done by Stephan Tremblay, March 19, 2017. The transaction of selling our home a purchasing new home happened so fast, and the inspection was done on a Sunday. From the second we walked on to the property, Stephan was explaining details in the construction, possible faults to look for, and the overall condition of the home.

Completed in a thorough and timely manner, while mentioning a couple of small improvements to be made in the future. Within a couple of hours after the inspection, we received a 30 page email including colour photos, and thermal images of all walls.

Overall, great inspection, great great learning experience, at a great price!

Stephen was very thorough and took the time to explain everything to me. I'm a young guy but that doesn't change how the inspection goes. He educated me and informed me about everything. To some, what would have seemed like a nightmare to-do list, is much more achievable now that I understand what's going on. He was there early and stayed for 2 hours.
