My impression with this "contractor" is that he had no intention of finishing the work as arranged and he was quite satisfied with taking the money as though he had earned because he agreed to do the job. When it became evident that not only the job wouldn't be completed in time but the work itself was shoddy at best, I requested to have my money returned to which his response was that while his intention was to do the job in his own time and if I wasn't happy with the arrangement according to his plan he would have to be compensated for his effort, so I was out 14000 dollars and left to have someone else come in and redo the work that was done at my own expense. People like this should really be taken to task as the effects of their inconsiderate and irresponsible behaviour comes at great expense to those who fall prey to his blatant disregard to operate ethically.
Dale Chymyshyn was hired in association with a company called CONTRACTOR SERVICES LINK to basically rebuild a house from the framing up. The contract in it's entirety was approximately $135K, not including the extras that popped up along the way. At the contract signing, the deposit put down was if my memory serves me correctly, around $50-60K, and the work was to begin about a month later in September, and be completed by Christmas. This was the hinge for us in hiring a contractor, was that he could complete the job by Christmas. My mother had moved provinces, and had been out of her home since March, living in her motor home on the property where this house was located. The work started, not on time, I might add, and was never finished by Dale or any others involved. The following fall, another company was hired, and was paid $80K to complete the work that Dale Chymyshyn was paid over $165K for. (addtions to the original contract were $30K for a brand new basement and $10K for a new septic tank - both of which were made to be paid in full before they would start on them) At last seen, Dale had been paid over $165K, and had only technically completed less than half of the original contract. Same story. He couldn't get people to do the work. I don't know if the man who dug the basement was ever paid a dime for the work he did. There were other sub-contractors that were never paid either. Dale left us only owing him $9800.00, but barely completed 50% of the work. He threw fits, threatened to stop work if he wasn't paid more money for "the beginning of the next stage", when the stages he'd started were never completed or inspected, threaten to put a lien on OUR property, neglected to get permits to the point that the inspector did come and stop work until the permits were obtained. We were under the impression, as that is what the contract stated, that the permits were all the responsibility of the contractor, and he even tried to say it wasn't included and that we had to pay for them. It was right there in writing! Dale Chymychyn looks and sounds like he knows what he's talking about in the beginning, but he's really just a desperate, broke, sought after man who has never paid his debts on time, does shoddy workmanship, (and I mean shoddy! our new contractor could do nothing but shake his head at what was allowed to go on in that house), takes advantage of people in desperate times, and is just plain crooked. He knows his game, and one day someone's going to catch up with him. Not answering your phone, changing the name of your business, and denying you are at fault for anything doesn't make it right Dale. You're a pitiful excuse for a human being and a waste of space, oxygen, and skin. What you have done to my mother specifically, put her in a financial situation of dire straits that has and will affect the rest of her life, and I hope that someday you receive your punishment. I'd buy tickets to watch. Don't EVEN bother making some cracked response to this post. You know which job this is by the description, and you know the amount of money you took from it without fulfilling your end of the contract. You should hide your face in shame taking advantage of people like that! What goes around comes around, either literally or proverbially, so you should watch over your shoulder, karma will kick you where it hurts. I hope to be there to watch.
I signed a faulty contract with Dale Chymyshyn (DAC Construction or also known as Nu-Way Interiors based in Tyndall Manitoba) in September 23, 2010. Basement renovation was to start Oct 5, 2010 and finish Nov 12, 2010. Today is Dec 21, 2011 and the renovation is still incomplete and impossible to complete, because in order to complete Dale would have to tare down some drywalls, and redo them. Dale Chymyshyn did not honor is own contract with respect to permits, time is of the essence clause, and paying his sub trades. I had to demand Dale for the permits. He tried to bypass the permits. Some of his sub trades did coming knocking on my door demanding where Dale Chymyshyn is and that they were not getting paid. Upon giving him the last payment for the renovation on Nov 23, 2010 I made him write a promissory note promising me to finish before Dec 2010. Once he got the last payment that was the last I saw him. I thought he abandoned the project. I made dozens of calls to his cell phone but no response. I had to do some investigations as to where Dale really lives and other important information necessary for a workable lawsuit. Dale was always eager to get money for items on the contracts that were not even completed. He would start another aspect of the contract and again ask for money before it was even completed. He seems too desperate for money all the time. I placed a complaint with the Manitoba Business Bureau (if you need to place a complaint call 945-3800 in Winnipeg). And I threaten Dale Chymyshyn with a Lawsuit. Work continued in March 2011 but very slow. He would send one worker every two weeks to do a little work. His excuse was he can not find people to finish my basement. I even had to look for people to install the AC and HRV. These two were supposed to have been installed before the drywall was put up last year. Because the drywall and ceiling in the basement were put up, none of the air ducts where ever contracted to supply the main floor and second floor. The work done to my home was rough. The sub trades were not happy because they were not getting paid on time or none at all. I was quite fortunate that none of the sub-trades took out a lean on my house. Presently the contract with Dale is 90% completed, and needs minor detail work that I have asked Dale to finish, but he never bothered to come back in finish. It took Dale 4 months to start paying me back for items on the contract that were not able to finish, and I hope he continues to, or else I would have to resort to small claims. In short summary Dale Chymyshyn did finish my basement but took a year to finish. He did a lot of short cuts and rendered some other work impossible to finish. He has caused me great stress during that renovation and a lot of money ($34,000) for an unprofessional work. Before you hire any contractor do your home work, ask for references, ask for before and after photos, ask for the driver’s licenses, their, utility bills with their name on it. If they don’t have any do not hire them. You will be saving your self a lot of stress and money!!!
Anyone read this review please BE AWARE and take a good care of your money and your time, whenever you are a consumer will be hiring Dale Chymyshyn or someone will be hired by him to work. I made a very big mistake hiring this guy to work in my basement. It has been more than 3 months and my basement is less than half done even though I paid him all the money. The basement is now very messy. But that is not the worst part. He did not even pay his electrician (now he cancelled the electrical permit) and also the plumber is not paid. I was threatened by them that they would place a lean on my house because they didn't get paid. I did future research and found this Dale Chymyshyn is very fishy about his business. I'm not the only one got screwed up by him, at least I know 2-3 more people were cheated by this guy. Once he received your downpayment, he would come to work like 2 times a week, and then ask for more money even the current job hasn't been finished yet saying that he did the work and need money to continue. After received a considerate amount of your money, he then suddenly stopped and ignore all your messages and phone calls, or he would come up with something like he'll finish or next week blah blah blah... I had enough, he keeps telling lies and excuses for everything, said he would take care of his subtrades's payments, but don't expect any words from this guy to come true. I went through a lot of stress and wasted a lot of my money on this guy, AND I HOPE NO ONE WILL BE HIS NEXT VICTIM. I writing this review because I believe your hard-working and your hard-earning money should never be wasted by such a guy (do not trust his appearance, he looks nice and professional at first time then turns out to be a total crook).
sign contract Aug 22 /08 it took him till Late Dec to complete then on april 23 /09 I started communicating with Dale about warranty on tub surround still to this date have not got any results I email him and call but can get no response
The tub was installed in September of 2008. The project was completed in December. Mr. Rowe informed me in late April that there was a problem with the Barker board and that he had someone come down and look at the Barker board. He had suggested that the board was not installed according to the specifications and that they would not warrenty the product. Having received a copy of this letter, I inspected the problem and contacted the person who wrote the letter. He asked me what adhesive was used ad the method it was used and he told me that the board was installed properly and according to spec, so I contacted Mr. Rowe and informed him of my conversation.
The tub and the Barker board surround were installed properly. Why the Barker board separated is unsure, but having talked to the manufacturer, it could be very possible that the board is separating is from the fact that one of the family member is very heavy.
I have offered Mr. Rowe an opportunity to fix the problem or replace the board, but at his cost as it is not covered under the manufacturer's warrenty and outside of our warrenty period.

Nu-Way Interiors
We signed the contract for the exterior project August 25, 2008, work commenced mid-October 2008, & the project remains unfinished to date by the Contractor.; we do not expect we will see the Contractor to finish the project & have taken steps to complete it ourselves.
The Contractor was not paying all of his sub-trades; he was directing them to us to pay which was not in accordance with the signed contract. We made every attempt to comply with the contract however this resulted in us being harassed & threatened by the trades; we ended up paying them directly to avoid any product being removed from our home.
All of the our regular subtrades have been paid in full for this project.
