Matt asked for half down of quoted work. I trusted him as he had done work in the past for us. Unfortunately we did not get a written quote other than texts back and forth. I e-transferred him $1000. He never showed up to do the work but has kept my $1000. Has since ghosted me and will not return my calls. All I want is my money back and for him to return my call. Definitely do not recommend this guy.
Call this company if you like to play the "will he show up?" game. I had a crack in my kitchen drain pipe, I shut down my kitchen sink and dishwasher as water was running into the basement. Contacted Matt Monday afternoon, he said he would repair it Wednesday afternoon. That afternoon he told me he can't make it, but he can come first thing Friday morning. Friday morning he texts that he can't make it but he will come Friday at noon. Friday at 4:00, no show, no text, no calls, didn't return my calls or text asking if he is coming. It is now Friday at 4:00, a long weekend and I need to find a plumber. I have been without a functioning kitchen for 5 days now waiting for him.
Saturday afternoon, Matthew texts me with a story about how his phone got wet on Friday so he couldn't contact me. His job went late (again). Seems to me if you are a plumber, you would have a water proof case on your cell, duh!
He tells me he can come out that day. I couldn't be bothered to deal with this any longer, he caused me enough stress. I hired another company (not easy to do on a long weekend) and they were out in no time, 4 hours ahead of my scheduled appointment.
Overall experience with Olde Timey Plumbing is he was unreliable and unprofessional.
Matt was first called to replace a leaking valve on my hot water tank. He completed the job quickly and informed me I needed a new hot water tank. 2 weeks later he had to return to fix the valve he replaced as it began to leak. After he installed my hot water tank. I paid him extra for disposal. He took my old tank but left the box and styrofoam from the new tank for me to dispose of.
I then asked if he could resolve a problem with my shower valve. He was willing and an appointment was set. Matt rescheduled his appointment several times last minute. He also told my tenant that he would keep her posted on arrival times so she wouldn’t have to waste her whole day which he did not. When Matt finally arrived to complete the job he cut a hole in my drywall to look at the valve. Once doing this he again attempted to reschedule. At this point I experienced my displeasure with continually being bumped back. Matt stated “he was doing me a favour by sneaking me in and that he did not like my tone so I can find a new plumber bro” (fortunately for me I already had another plumber booked for 2 days later because of how unreliable Matt was). When the new plumber came they had no clue why Matt cut an access hole where he did. They had to cut a second hole in a proper location for the work to be done.
I never asked for a favour. I wanted an appointment. If he was to busy I would have found another plumber. Matt tried to take advantage of myself and my tenant being accommodating to his lack of professionalism and time management. Not only did he not resolve the issue he said he would, he quit and damaged my residence. Anyone considering using this company should think long and hard. Your project will take twice as long and he won’t be able to warranty anything because if this is how he runs a business, he won’t be around much longer.
